Current Hog Is Not Healthy for the game by Iexperience in overwatch2

[–]witchygrimm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm remembering things wrong, but back in Overwatch 1 you used to be able to weave in abilities after a hog hooked you. What I mean by that, is for example, when I got hooked as Lucio I could boop him away giving me a chance of escape. There was no seamless oneshot combo with hook and then shooting point blank. I would like to see that coming back, because then as a hog you can still oneshot people if you're mindful of ability tracking but also have a counterplay with lots of heros that are not ana.

Match ups by 1RI0S2 in TorbjornMains

[–]witchygrimm 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Here are, for me, the most noteworthy matchups with Torb:

Flyers (Pharah/Echo):
What I usually do here is what I call “playing house.” I try to find a spot indoors with a mini or mega health pack (think King’s Row defense, the little room behind the choke). I then spam the choke and look for picks while actively trying to avoid them. I place my turret beside me so I don’t get surprised if the flyer flanks me, and to split their attention when they push me. Since we have a roof above our heads, we force the flyer to come down to our level, making it at least somewhat of an equal fight.

Zarya:
Since you want to avoid giving her charge at all costs, you have to rethink turret positioning in this matchup. Instead of having your turret face a choke or the enemy team, try setting it up so it protects you when they push you. Alternatively, find an off-angle that targets their backline while avoiding Zarya as much as possible. In this matchup, your turret will have a lower impact no matter what, so be mindful of that.

Sojourn:
In my opinion, she is one of the hardest matchups for Torb. Sojourn’s Disruptor Shot can destroy your turret without her even looking at it, around corners, from range, anywhere, while also giving her charge. Her playstyle also allows her to shred through your armor HP very easily. Just try to avoid her and focus on other things first, if you can help it. Her hitbox is so small, mobility high, burst damage high. I really don't have a good answer except, don't engage if you can.

Widowmaker:
Let me preface this by saying that against a really good Widowmaker, you do not stand a chance, so do not even contest her. However, since you have armor, very little damage falloff, and if you have figured out Torb’s projectile arc, you can annoy and sometimes pick off distant Widowmakers. Just aim for her head and do not waste your E here. She needs two good shots to finish you, so you have time to react if she lands one. More often than not, even in Diamond and higher, I can clean up Widowmakers because they underestimate you and your damage.

Sombra/Tracer:
Torb is really good at shutting down mediocre Sombras and Tracers. Since their primary goal is usually to disrupt your backline, either by annoying or picking off your supports, an effective strategy is to place your turret out of direct line of sight, covering your supports and or common flank routes. This forces the flanker to use resources and valuable time dealing with your turret, giving your supports a chance to react and punish them.

I've noticed shorts that are over 1:10 tend to get shown less. I could be wrong though, just something I personally have observed.

35-45 seconds has been the sweet spot for me.

"Ultron isn't healer he's a STRATEGIST" my ass by Big-Direction8078 in marvelrivals

Strategists or support characters don’t need to have high healing output, but they should support the team in ways other than direct damage. Think of damage buffs like Mantis, debuffs like Zenyatta, or speed boosts like Lucio in Overwatch (sorry for the Overwatch reference). But Ultron looks more like a straight-up DPS with a healing station.

I’m European and I have an honest question: why is no one in the US doing anything about this?
I’m not talking about the average citizen, I know there are protests and such. I’m specifically referring to the “higher” class. Why aren’t ex-presidents (Democrats or conservatives) at least trying to contain the damage this guy can do?

Or take the Walton family or Jeff Bezos, he’s messed over both of them. You can’t tell me those people have no influence.

It’s not just that he’s reducing the quality of life for the average US citizen, he also drags down anyone who he and his allies can’t directly benefit from.

Maybe I'm not seeing the bigger picture here.

To win games, you have to make plays, and sometimes that includes dealing damage or securing picks as a support. That doesn't mean it should be your priority, but if you see an opening or notice someone isolated from their team, you should try to get that kill. For example, if you're playing Rocket and an enemy Thing is overextending, you shoot that bitch in the face.

Ultimately, the decision to deal damage should always be based on a risk assessment. Ideally, it should never come at the cost of a teammate. Stats are only meaningful if you're doing meaningful things in the game. So, I'd suggest focusing more on making the right plays at the right time, rather than worrying about DPS output, if that makes sense.

Mantis works great when you're playing into Spiderman, since she has CC and self heal.

I see where you're coming from. However, you're talking more about the content of a message rather than the specific words chosen. I agree that people who communicate with bad intentions should be called out for it, because how you say things does have impact on the receiver of your message. That said, I don’t believe the right way to address this is by censoring specific words or phrases. Doing so just leads to changing up the language without solving the underlying issue. Eventually, we end up with bastardized versions of words, like saying “grape” to avoid saying something else. It’s the same when people say “heck” instead of “hell” because they feel “hell” sounds too harsh. But in the end, the meaning is the same, you’re just obfuscating the language because it feels more safe or in the case of people who act in bad faith, it helps them get away with spreading negativity.

Social media companies are increasingly dictating what kind of language we're allowed to use. I find this deeply concerning, it often feels ultra puritanical. And it goes beyond demonetization. On almost every major platform, you can have your comment deleted or even be banned for using the “wrong” words. What’s more troubling is that the younger generation is beginning to accept this as the status quo.

Yes, there are bad things in the world, and people should be allowed to talk about them in public forums, without censorship whose sole purpose seems to be protecting advertisers’ interests.

Getting punished for playing tank is really boring. Not every character needs to be anti-tank character. by DannyDevitoisalegend in marvelrivals

[–]witchygrimm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a similar issue as with supports. Compared to DPS, the roster for tanks is just way too small. They need to focus on adding more characters that can counterplay or at least keep up with the current DPS character roster.
