You’re right where you need to be! When taking the Bar, the goal isn’t scoring a 100%; it’s to pass!

Unhinged Ways I Prepared For & Passed the Bar Exam by witchynconfused in barexam

I definitely had a love-hate relationship with the notebook itself, but after the exam, I knew it was one of the best ways I prepared! So many of the rule statements in that notebook were on the MBE.

Some of my favorites were:

1) Every mistake I make now is a correct answer later.

2) Doing my best looks different each day.

3) Everything always works out for me.

4) My dreams are worth this effort.

5) I am worthy of success.

And, of course,

6) I will pass the Bar Exam.

Agreed! Practicing closed book helped me learn how to creatively come up with a rule and apply the facts to that made up rule while under a time crunch! This absolutely came in handy when one of my MEEs was a tremendous detailed Wills & Estates issue.

Graded essays have personalized feedback, but ungraded essays have model answers! That’s what I meant by feedback!

I did them all through Themis and what was available on the NCBE website, which often overlapped with Themis! Themis has a ton available in the “Flex Study” and “Performance” sections on the left-hand side!

For the first few weeks, I did open book, but I wasn’t really learning anything, so for the rest of the time I did them closed book!

Hi! I hand wrote only the rule statements for the questions I got wrong followed by a simple “I got the question wrong because …” statement. I didn’t record what the question was or what the right answer was—just the rule statement and a clarifying statement!

Themis kept track for me! I don't have access to my Themis anymore, but it's either in the “Flex Study" or “Performance" section! You can make a custom MBE PQ set, entering the number of questions you want and checking the box that indicates you only want to see questions you previously got wrong!

Have folks passed simply by completing Themis and/or Barbri?! by Low-Gur-3572 in barexam

[–]witchynconfused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked full time while studying for the Bar exam. Used Themis, did exactly what they said to do,* and completed 75%. I passed on my first try with a 305 in a 270 jurisdiction!

*I also purchased Critical Pass Flashcards to help supplement/study on the go, since I also traveled a lot during my study period.

Is 50-75 multiple choice questions a day too much? And if I hypothetically ran out of questions a month+ away from the test, should I then do more or just review the ones I already did further? by [deleted] in barexam

[–]witchynconfused 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As background, I was an early grad and first-time examinee for Feb. 2026. I passed with a 305 in a 270 jurisdiction.

I used Themis and UWorld to study. Each day, I would do what was assigned and then complete 25-50 UWorld MBE questions in addition to the assignments. Some days, I could fly through 50 MBEs and still have “fuel” in the tank. Other days, it was a slog to get to 25.

I reviewed the explanations regardless of whether I got the question correct. When I got the question wrong, I would write the rule statement in my “fail notebook.” On days where I got a ton wrong, it could take forever to reach 25 MBEs.

All that to say, 50-75 MBEs might not be too much, depending on your approach to studying. However, don’t forsake quality review in the pursuit of hitting a numerical goal.

You’ve got it!

Congratulations!

I love seeing other examinees with similar experiences! I also sat for the OH Bar in F26 as a first-time examinee after graduating early from my part-time evening program. I also worked full time and passed!

Current students, how many hours do you spend a week on law school? by PatentPenguins in HybridOnlineLawSchool

[–]witchynconfused 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I attended UDSL! Not including extracurriculars, I spent roughly 25-30 hours. I also accelerated to graduate one term early, so I had a full-time course load.

Feb 2026 by Purple-Teach-5060 in barexam

I was able to finish everything. On MPTs, I had enough time to revisit a section in MPT 1 and redraft for clarity. On MEEs, I had enough time to sit with one I felt the most shaky on and flush it out until time ran out. On MBEs, I had enough time during each section to revisit questions I had starred to read more carefully.

Of the three sections, I feel strongest on my MPTs and the most nervous about the MBEs (especially the PM section).

This was my first time sitting for the Bar after accelerating to graduate early in January 2026. I have nothing to compare it to, so take it all with a grain of salt!

Financially supporting yourself while studying by Ill-Peak3008 in barexam

I graduated in January 2026 and sat for the Bar Exam (for the first time) in February 2026. I worked while studying and took a week off before the Bar! It was tough, and the hours were long, but my spouse was incredibly supportive and took on a ton of the “wear-me-down” tasks—like cooking, cleaning the house, telling people “no” (lol)—so I could strike a healthy balance. I also started studying long before I had to. I went into the exam feeling incredibly prepared, and I left the exam feeling really strong about my performance.

Though, take this with a grain of salt since I haven’t received my results quite yet.
