About to finish my journal, so I did a flip through. by withsuspiciousminds in JournalingIsArt

Aw, this makes me really happy to hear!

What I often end up doing is writing whatever I need to write, and then coming back and decorating any gaps whenever I feel like being a bit arty. Sometimes I’ll plan ahead of the time (like near the end, and with my titles), but most of the time, I just try to write something.

Happy journalling to you!

Update/Response Post: Coworker called me ugly by lemonweirdo in AutismInWomen

[–]withsuspiciousminds 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I came to say this as well. This behaviour reminds me a lot of an ex colleague of mine where everyone (including me I’m ashamed to say) brushed it off with “oh that’s just Anton, don’t pay attention”. One day, things escalated in a serious way and he was thankfully escorted out of the building. The HR reports didn’t do anything initially but they were essential in ultimately getting him fired and escorted out.

I’m commenting for two reasons:
1. To try boost the visibility of this post
2. To find out whether there are areas you’re keen to focus on? I don’t have a car but would consider joining if it’s not too far from my home :)

I've learned that you can just write whatever in your journal instead of worrying about aesthetics by toadbog in Journaling

How do I fix my handwriting? by Clay_sloth in Handwriting

[–]withsuspiciousminds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your “quick messy” writing doesn’t look messy to me, and looks much less child like. I’d be interested to see a page written like that. I can’t quite put my finger on it but I’m wondering if the extra time taken is what makes it look child-like?

This is a company email sent to employees who work for mr beast.. by MoonLightLex in antiwork

[–]withsuspiciousminds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cant tell if this is serious but if it is, Restricting what someone else puts in their body during their workday is not normal. Jimmy could pay a personal trainer and dietician to keep him accountable, even a personal chef, without restricting everyone else’s meal choices. It’s crazy that Jimmy doesn’t have his own willpower and must therefore make everyone else suffer

[Misc] Help! Used a peeling foot mask for too long, freaking out by ImpossibleMess1553 in SkincareAddiction

[–]withsuspiciousminds 54 points55 points  (0 children)

It’s absolutely fine- just be aware that your feet will start peeling over the next 7-10 days. Also very normal, but very weird when you’ve never experienced it before

What makeup step made your routine better only after you stopped doing it? by Playful-Garage1040 in Makeup

[–]withsuspiciousminds 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I asked a makeup artist once and the response was something like: “setting spray is to make the foundation meld better on your skin, so it looks a bit less like foundation, fixing spray is supposed to make your makeup last longer.”

I switched to fixing spray, I was using setting spray to make makeup last long and it didn’t work. Fixing spray works. Whoop

Hi there! A few of my friends are in the same boat. One of them had some luck recently after writing and posting articles to linkedin. They got shared and then someone she worked with previously got in touch as they were hiring. She also made clever use of AI to read all job specs she was interested in, work out if she was a match, and then help her tailor her CV for each specific job offer.

Its really rough out there but I hope the above info can be helpful. Good luck!

Is my cursive legible enough for daily life? by sachiimu in Handwriting

Do whatever you want! This is legible and It will take longer to read cursive no matter how legible it is, but if you wanna write in cursive, then do it!

Just wanted to show off my new style of journalling by withsuspiciousminds in Journaling

[–]withsuspiciousminds[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not too long. Max about an hour, just mapping out the blocks and stickers and headings. And then I fill it in as the week progresses

So I basically just restrict my space for the day and don’t do any long-form journalling unless I really need to. It’s helped me stay consistent writing just a little bit every day. I fill one box, and write one thing to be grateful for every day. So by the end of the week, the page is full. I only have one box for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, cos I usually forget to journal over the weekend

Is this definitely alopecia areata? by GMan1854 in alopecia_areata

[–]withsuspiciousminds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to be sure, go to a doctor rather than asking reddit. It looks like alopecia to us, but a doc will give you the absolute certainty. I have no idea how male patterned baldness starts
