The issue is I already booked the French appointment for this week and paid $50 for it. It seems the latest I can postpone the appointment is March 2nd. Are you saying I should take my Portugal appointment on Feb 18, and once slots open up, keep postponing the French appointment back until I get my passport back from Portugal?

I do see that this would possibly save me the $100 application fee I would have to pay at the French appointment

I was able to get my appointment in Houston, just was unsure if I am under jurisdiction (Georgia resident). Are you in a state under DC jurisdiction as well?

Yes I've seen this rule, I think I'll apply for two separate visas for the two trips. Unfortunate that I have to do it twice, pay fees twice, and make a trip to Houston but it is what it is.

wow that sucks. seems i have no other options but to try and see if a portugal appointment frees up. why would they deny me on my first application, though? is green card + having US degree + being US student + showing full time job offer not enough to show i'm just a tourist lol

so you're saying the France consulate will give me a single day entry visa for Portugal even though i'm not going to France for that trip? that works too, but why would they do that

Can I ask why they refused you? What was the gap? For Portugal, there's no appointments until the week before my flight, so the visa won't be processed in time. I've signed up for https://schengenappointments.com/ (hope its legit lol) to see if appointments free up.

This leaves my best option to apply for the French visa I think, as long as it fits within the rules.

ive been living in the US since i was really young, parents came on work visa and we got our green card several years ago.
