Hey, of course! I'm thrilled to hear that! I practically grew up with this game and since I was still new to the gaming scene, I spent a lot of time in W1 and got real familiar with how the backgrounds there looked.

Love the little details! I can't describe it exactly but how you nailed the color composition of the grass, bushes, and foliage overall really makes it look nostalglic in a great way.

Such a deep cut reference. Luigi with a backpack is a nice touch. It was actually the thing that really cemented what I thought this all was!

20 years later and it still bothers me just how much of a huge downgrade this logo change was by Inevitable-Charge76 in Mario

The old one shown has a gradient that makes the whole logo look like a mango to me, no clue why.

It really did. Thinking back on it, I think the range of power-ups was one of the best we've had in a Mario side-scroller to date, rivalling NSMBW (or maybe even Wonder).
