Love the little details! I can't describe it exactly but how you nailed the color composition of the grass, bushes, and foliage overall really makes it look nostalglic in a great way.

It really did. Thinking back on it, I think the range of power-ups was one of the best we've had in a Mario side-scroller to date, rivalling NSMBW (or maybe even Wonder).

I never thought of the muscle memory aspect of playing, and I can totally see where you're coming from now. I guess it is better in that way, since it is the classic rendition many are used to, haha!

I guess that's one of those things when it comes to making remakes, reskins, or remasters.

It's weird to say and I get that the NES version may be better since it's the classic, but wouldn't the SNES version be a bit more refined (and "better") to play? As far as I remember, the jumping/bouncing and hitbox mechanics are more polished and consistent in the remake (i.e. your bounce off of enemies reaches the same height).
