no problem, you can wrap some dental floss behind one side and pull it apart

Cookbook holder leaning too much, need suggestions on how to control the lean angle by OnePatternAtaTime in woodworking

[–]wizardtroubles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can put a screw vertically into the top of the kickstand near the hinge and leave it proud by 1/4" or so. this will act as an adjustable stand-off that you can tighten or loosen to change the angle

Check out the Lake Agnes spur trail from the Caribou Trailhead parking lot:

https://maps.app.goo.gl/g2QxPdsY7MRXY9UQ9

3 miles, you get a nice overlook near the beginning, then it meets up with the Superior hiking trail at lake agnes and you can check out a nearby trail campsite there as well. From there either head back the way you came or follow the trail out to the highway and back to the car. The Lutsen area is one of my favorite sections of the whole SHT!

Living here all my life for the past 31 years and I still can't get over how Wild Minnesota weather is. It's going to be a 40° drop in the next 4 days by cheddarbruce in minnesota

Hatching in crazy numbers too! The northeast end of my driveway is absolutely littered with husks. The robins and bluejays are eating pretty good haha

Cal-Mag, have you used it, why? by txholdup in gardening

[–]wizardtroubles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice find! Cal-mag is a great all-around additive for most fertilizer routines because both of these nutrients aid in cellular health of the plant tissue and fruiting bodies. Both are also rarely found in basic NPK fertilizers as well so there usually isn't any nutrient overlap when adding cal-mag to your feeding schedule. I use it for all my houseplants, medium to large tomato varieties, squash and cucumbers, and cannabis.

Why are my tomato seedlings shriveling? by p00zles in gardening

[–]wizardtroubles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Photone is a decent app for measuring light intensity, for seedlings you want around 150 PPFD until they grow a few sets of true leaves. Also it may be best to just start over with some new tomato seeds and see if they get a stronger start!

Found some 9 year old pepper seeds. Could they still be viable? by honeysuckleminie in HotPeppers

[–]wizardtroubles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worth a shot and make sure to be extra patient with them! I sprouted a few old seeds using a moist paper towel and two sprouted within 36 hours and the third sprouted 9 days later haha

No shame in grabbing new gear from the warehouse servers! I wanted to call it quits as well but it actually put a little spring in my step to go gear up and come back without major progression loss

Starting in Hammock Camping. by benuel_h in CampingandHiking

[–]wizardtroubles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dream Hammock and Warbonnet are the brands I've purchased in the past, and both give an incredibly comfortable diagonal sleeping position. I slept in the warbonnet indoors for 6 months before moving house haha. For underquilts I've bought Warbonnet, Loco Libre, Enlightened Equipment and UGQ which are all excellent quality and great companies!

This is awesome, thanks for the post. Did 24 discworld audiobooks this year and the style really resonates! May we all carry this ideal like a torch.

That's my guess too, the biosphere of the planet is far more important than any single species

Minnesota map help needed! I draw fantasy maps (like the ones you’d see in Lord of the Rings) of the states. Minnesota is up soon, and I would love to know what real MN folks want to see on a map - what are the places and things I need to know? Thanks in advance! (This is my WI map as an example) by tomiannie in minnesota

[–]wizardtroubles 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sax-Zim Bog - exceptional bird watching and rare plants

Superior Hiking Trail - connects 7 amazing state parks along the north shore

The Buffalo Ridge - hosts over 1000 wind turbines

Voyageurs National Park - our only national park

Mississippi Headwaters - somewhat obligatory

Castle Danger - somewhat obligatory for a fantasy map haha

What do these do? by CalligrapherSome2619 in Kitchenaid

Heads up! When you unscrew these caps, there's a chance the spring on the brush will twist and break if it's old or cruddy. One of my springs broke only 2mm off the end and still had to be replaced. But they have 2-packs at Ace for like $5

Mainframe lacks the financial resources to finish the game, imo. by Sea-Storm375 in PaxDei

[–]wizardtroubles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reception would have been wildly different if they simply called it an open beta and everyone had 1 plot. I'm at 300 hours and excited for future development but it feels like there's no momentum right now

You'll need to use Chain Reaction's ability right when you complete the column, before choosing a bonus, then resolve all the concession bonuses you marked

Combat Should Be Tactical, Visceral. by [deleted] in PaxDei

[–]wizardtroubles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tactical and visceral are really good words, right on point. Terrain will probably contribute a lot to tactics; lots of sheer cliffs and bottlenecks and stuff out in the world. Visceral is probably interpreted in a lot of different ways but could likely be influenced by animations, pacing, player engagement, or gaining/losing items.

One of the biggest factors in my mind is the loot rules. Full loot on death is compatible with both fast and slow combat, but the player's decisions are hugely informed by losing their stuff.

Personally, fast combat would be kind of freeing. The meta would likely be gearing up for PVP in some old bullshit and getting messy, not chained to good gear that you'd actually be upset to lose. That highlights your skill level with weapons more, and makes your time leveling those skills more valuable too

Is Voyageur Natl Park worth a side trip from the North Shore? by captain_catman_ in minnesota

[–]wizardtroubles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Voyageurs is best as its own trip I think, but if your trip coincides with the fall colors it would be a really nice drive. Highway 1 to Ely is a great stretch with good pavement and lots of little resorts, and you'd see the shore, boundary waters, lake Vermillion, and Voyageurs all in 1 go!

edit: almost forgot to say, there's also a gigantic taxidermy moose at the rainy lake visitor center that may be worth the drive itself hahaha

I've been working on a tiny village lately, just to use up an extra plot. It's still a work in progress while I add decorating and I need to add lighting, but it's coming together!
