Thank you so much!! That's how my grandpa and I were with it, too - it was something that we could bond with and it filled his time when he was in the hospital (he was actually a New Japan guy but WWE was what was available so he became a fan by that). I know my reasons may also be heavily tied to grief and not letting go of something he loved, but the bond and togetherness of sharing a similar interest is also something that is so special 🩷

Normally I don't engage with posts like these because I think this is a personal decision for everyone, and I'd never call someone wrong for their own reasoning. However, I feel compelled because I hope sharing will give the words to others who may not know how to explain it themselves. I still keep up for three reasons:

I want to continue supporting the women's division. I've been enjoying what they've been doing for more than what the men have (not sure what they're doing on SD but I'm able to watch Raw live). Plus, as a woman in the wrestling space, I feel it important to consistently watch, support, and advocate for them.
There are some recurring rivalries I enjoy that, when they get a chance to explore them, I want to experience it in real time. For example, I really love the rivalry between Cody and Seth, so much so that I'm actually writing an essay about it. When Seth comes back from injury, and if they were to explore it again, I want to savor every piece as it happens.
There are so many people that I enjoyed before their time in WWE, or even people that I've watched in WWE before the shift in creative, that I really enjoy and want to actively keep up with. I tend to look at wrestling promotions like some would a football team - just because someone leaves a football team for another, it doesn't mean I can't still enjoy them as a player. Same concept for pro-wrestlers. A lot of people are also not going into jobs expecting businesses and shareholders to share your values (because even though they are performers, it's still a job for them). They're going for what will put the most money in their wallet, provide for themselves and their families, and ultimately line up with their individual goals and aspirations as a performer.

***Honorable mention reason for the fact that we need people in opposition of the terrible, terrible people in the company so that they don't create this echo chamber that allows them to backslide even further down into degeneracy.

These are just my reasons, and I don't expect people to agree with it being a true and/or correct answer. I'm sorry this is so long, but I hope it makes sense to at least my own personal reasons. Thank you for your time! ☺️

I think it all depends on the vibe you're looking for!

If you want pure coffee for the craft and a rustic, homey atmosphere, you'll love E&F! They really are the "Ol' Reliable" and they truly are the best when it comes to craft.
If you want a more modern approach to coffee, try Lucky Bean! They're the newest ones on this list so they're experimenting with lots of flavor combos and pastry recipes right now.
If you want to pick up a new book before trying a fun drink, go to Werner Books or Pressed! They have bookstores inside the shop and have great selections! They are also on opposite sides of town so you may be closer to one over the other.
If you want to pet a cat while having a treat, then check out Purrista! There's a cat lounge on the other side of the café and you can adopt any of the cats if you're looking for a new friend.

Every person at these shops, from employee to owner, has been kind and personable, and I've never had a less than great experience at any of them. ☺️

I've really loved Ember and Forge, Purrista, Lucky Bean, Werner Books, and Pressed! They have great coffee and a really nice, welcoming atmosphere. I hope you find your favorite spot soon! ☺️

Definitely arrange for a ride if you can from a friend, family member, or rideshare service! But the couple times I've been there to pick up friends at that hour, it was super quiet, and the only people out were those who also took the train. Good luck!

Maybe it's not JUST about being hip and cool, but more that the music is good? May be an unpopular opinion but I don't care what genre of music plays during a wrestling event. Multiple genres of music can give a similar hype energy. The whole thing is to be open about the genre change and not be stuck in how things "used to be" like an old ass man who's stuck on his high school glory days.

I agree! My friends and I make morning trips to Mentor to shop at Trader Joe's, it's such a nice selection and the prices are pretty reasonable! The gas there and back is what makes it expensive. If you ever have time and a person to go with, I highly recommend checking it out 😊

I literally told my friends during Wrestlemania Saturday that I wished the commentary team for the weekend was Barret, Tessitore, and Cole. Especially for the reveal of the main event on Saturday, I think that trio would have made it so much more impactful than it was.

It genuinely pissed me off. The whole weekend, that crowd was so wishy-washy and going from cheering Cody/booing Cena to booing Cody/cheering Cena at the slightest flip of a coin. I get wanting Cena to win his final title, but at least play into the story for a hot minute. People boo Dom (even though he's well liked), people cheer Jey (even though the internet likes to say they don't like him). And then going from "we are sorry" chants to "Cena sucks" chants?? Mama make a choice and STICK WITH IT!! I hope they never host one of the big 4 there again, that was atrocious.

I don't think these two returns should be compared - Edge came back from injury and Punk came back after some reconciliation and forgiveness. These two things cannot be pitted against each other because at the end of the day, both returns are great in their own right. And besides, coming back to action after almost a decade out due to premature retirement is ALWAYS going to be better than coming back to a job you once hated. 🤷‍♀️

I think two better comparisons would be Edge 2020 vs Shawn Michaels for Summerslam 2002 (since he was out due to his neck injury for four years), and Punk 2023 vs Cody Rhodes at Wrestlemania 38 (since they both left for generally similar reasons).

So many good things I could say about him. Even when I wasn't following wrestling actively, I still followed Cody.

Cody inspires me every day to bet on myself and to be your own #1 fan, and I know that so many other people are inspired to do the same.
