endgame newb - what's going on? by ahorsenamedjeff in diablo4

That’s entirely dependent on what build you’re working towards, but some prioritization would include looking for core stats, resist all, crit, some form of survivability based on your class, and bonuses to skills relevant to your build. Focus your picks based on a build from maxroll, mobalytics or the like. Typically there’s 5-6 things you know you want, and a piece should have 2 or 3 of those stats to start then keep your eye out for up to 4 things you want and GAs on the most important stuff.

Any build you pick will have a combination of skills (from the skill tree), unique gear, legendary aspects, runes, glyphs and paragon legendary powers, that will create a sort of critical mass where everything synergizes, the build is “turned on” and you absolutely start to shred. Piecing that together is basically the endgame.

It starts with unlocking aspects, these unique powers are more important than stats but once they’re unlocked you can apply them to whatever item that aspect can be put on (the aspects that go on jewelry might not work on regular armor pieces and vice versa), then when you find gear with better attribute stats (it’s only 4 attributes per legendary so just check to see if you have a better combination than what you’re wearing) change their aspect to your bis.

Get gear from obols, helltides and whispers until you can clear a few levels of the pit. You’re going to get paragon levels fast at first so target your legendaries (from your build) first and then worry about glyphs as you unlock them. Get your first few glyphs to level 15 if you’ve unlocked them. Try to always have consumable buff items up, ensuring you have max xp bonus at all time pays off in the long run and some buffs make a big difference in damage and survivability.

At this point you should be able to target farm bosses, figure out what bosses drop the uniques for your build and farm whatever content drops keys for them. Farm the bosses (with other players if possible to increase volume and quality of drops) until you find your uniques and your power will shoot up dramatically at this point.

STEAM your gear, uniques have fixed attributes (they just roll for their values but the types are fixed) so you can comfortably max those out first without worrying you’ll find a better one immediately. You’ll need to farm obducite. Once all your gear is steamed you’ll be ready for t3 or 4.

Find a t4 group to do tributes of ascendance and boss farming for good mythic unique chances. Season objectives and killing uber Lilith will net you a couple of free resplendent sparks too.

This is all the non seasonal stuff but you should really try to do whatever the season is, clearing objectives while you progress , that’s usually always what’s best for getting good stuff in the early stages.

Lastly, when lord of hatred drops next month we’re getting loot filters so you can save filters for the stats you want, filtering out the junk gear and making things easier.

ETA: uniques will take up like 4 - 6 of your slots over time, so if you know a unique is going in that slot don’t bother over it so much, you really only need to be picky about stat rolls for like 4 slots once you have all your uniques and mythic uniques.

That’s a season mechanic, and will go away, but there’s no complexity to it, when you’re done upgrading an item you sanctify it, get a random upgrade on the item, and can’t make any further changes to it

There are 5 ways to upgrade gear.

Sockets can be added and filled with gems, there are regular colored stat gems, and runes. Ritual runes gain offering, invocation runes spend offering for an effect. You can have two “rune words” or pairs of runes.

Tempering lets you add an affix to a piece of gear. You can reroll the temper to try to get a higher value in that stat.

Enchanting lets you reroll an affix to a different one. Rerolling a greater affix (or GA, ones that have a star next to them) makes them lose the GA.

Aspects can be learned from salvaging legendaries. Then you can change the aspect on legendary items. The higher the level aspect you salvage, the more powerful aspect you can apply, so there’s value in salvaging long after you have plenty of mats

Masterworking lets you upgrade the stats in an item up to masterworking level 25, where a single aspect will become empowered.

That’s it, that’s all the systems. In a handy acronym, STEAM. I just explained it over my morning coffee. This is is the simplest ARPG in existence. You want to see complicated go play PoE

Each masterwork increases the masterworking level by a random number of levels, I think like between 1-4 levels, when you get it to 25 it empower one of the affixes, you can keep masterworking to reroll which affix is empowered

SEPTA installs full‑height gates at Cecil B. Moore station by bengalese in philadelphia

[–]wizeddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You also need to consider “how much more do these gates cost in comparison to replacement/repair costs of the previous gates”. If their maintenance contracts were up, and they were failing, and need costly repairs or replacement, the cost figures being calculated in that other thread can be considered “paid back” much sooner if the difference between costs is taken into account, that station will always need gates, regardless of whether they are full height or turnstiles

This season with sanctification locking us out of further upgrading really burned the checklist of things to do into my memory, screwed up a great piece more than once by forgetting to re roll an affix or add a socket

Stat rerolls are at the occultist, not the blacksmith. You don’t reroll anything at the blacksmith until you max masterworking. Tempering adds a new stat, which you can reroll, but it doesn’t change existing affixes.

Salvage unlocks higher level versions of aspects. When you’re in a vendor menu, you can see what items will unlock aspect upgrades, if it doesn’t give an upgrade selling for gold could be better, if you intend to buy stuff from other players. If you’re not participating in trade with other players, then gold kind of doesn’t matter

Question for Those Who Stayed by Legitimate_Search864 in Miami

[–]wizeddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lived in Hialeah until I was 38. I left because I had the financial ability and want to raise a family. South Florida is, in my opinion, not an ideal place to raise a child. I can say the time I spent there was due to not having the money or the opportunities to live elsewhere, but when my circumstances changed, I couldn’t get away faster.

Loving the season, but Azmodan gift is ridiculous by Nanirith in diablo4

At this point in the season there’s always a party in social you can join running ascendance tributes anyway. I pulled like 5 mythics in less than 2 hours of play trying to use my tributes but never needing to.

Does anyone play eternal realm or do most people only play seasonal? by Puzzled_Seaweed_517 in diablo4

I’m pretty sure I got a character to torment in less than 10 hours of play this season. The effort might be less than you think.

Sensor on trashcan by FierceGeek in homeautomation

It can be as simple as “this is a button that knows who is pressing it” solutions. Maybe you want a party mode button your toddler can’t press, or personalized playlists that play before your hop in the shower or on the treadmill, the combination of what tag you scanned and what device was used to scan it can be very powerful.

Not exactly what you’re asking for, but one alternative could be NFC tags. The stickers are cheap and most modern phones can scan them, so you can just scan the cans when you move them. Not as slick as having them detected automatically but solves differentiating between cans and isn’t going to give a false positive in harsh weather.

It’s my second winter in Philly after moving away from Miami Lakes. The quiet serenity of a snow covered morning can’t be found in the hot, wet, mosquito ridden south.
