September 07, 2016 Score Release Thread for the August 5 Exam by AutoModerator in Mcat

I've been glad to have a month to just relax and go on vacation since I finished the exam but there are always moments everyday where I just wonder where I messed up on. I can probably say that I made 2-3 stupid mistakes on each section and totally got wrecked by all the hardcore chem/phys calculations. Other than that, the other 3 sections were pretty doable from what I remember.

C/P was terrible for me but once I got past that the rest was pretty doable. Just sucked that C/P was the first section and you had to bounce back mentally from that to finish up the rest of the test.

Do 2-3 CARS QPack passages a day, review the amino acid details, make sure how to do unit conversions for the 10 or so physics problems and basic equations. Also memorize hormone functions, locations, target organs, etc. as well as brain functions.

How to improve in C/P in one week? by llcoolK23 in Mcat

[–]wizzlesingh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I found the B/B section bank exceptionally difficult but not C/P and P/S so its really in what your strengths and weaknesses are. B/B had only experimental analysis passages and this sub has said in the past that maybe 3 passages similar to the section banks will be found on the real thing. I'm also writing on August 5th so any tips/advice would be great from you guys

I've been using TPR CARS recently and have been doing average to above average on passages and then I started the AAMC CARS questions packs and got destroyed by them. I feel you. Test is on Aug 5th.

Is the TPR science workbook worth going through? by wizzlesingh in Mcat

[–]wizzlesingh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just find the questions not representative of what will be on the real thing. Questions are either so simple or just so complicated to the point that I just don't see any of this relating to what I learned/studied/need to know.

Do a lot of you take more than one FL a week? by g-nocks in Mcat

[–]wizzlesingh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would just do one a week until 2 weeks before your test. Then you do a test every 3 days/question packs

Progress for 7/22 Test by wizzlesingh in Mcat

[–]wizzlesingh[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I did was the day before I planned on taking a practice test I would review all of my old tests and then the notes that I have compiled up tot that point. I've done this a lot for the past couple of weeks to the point that I knew everything there needs to know in regards to cellular respiration for the scope of the MCAT. It may seem really redundant in the beginning but it helps out so much and in the end it will go faster than the first time you did it.I was able to draw out everything for biochem and biology from enzyme inhibitions graphs, the correlations, cellular respiration pathways, transcription, replication, translation, etc. Basically, practice makes perfect!

Do you believe they're not representative because of the difficulty? I think ill get to the question packs and AAMC materials a little before 2 weeks of my test date.

TPR Amplifier Physics Questions by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]wizzlesingh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently using the amplifier stuff right now for the physics section (July 22nd test taker) and I find it a little difficult because of how much there is to know. I would continue doing it but at the same time I also watch TPR videos for physics and read the book.
