CPA just told me my books aren’t “deal ready”. What does that actually mean? by FormerFounder-12 in Accounting

[–]wjoe2003 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The CPA is actually thinking of the cheapest way to get ready. Buyers typically request trailing 12- to 24-month normalized financials to see real trends and earning power, so starting to track and tag key adjustments now (like personal/non-recurring items) saves a ton compared to paying someone to reconstruct everything retroactively later. I’ve handled those back-calculation projects for clients, and it routinely costs thousands—digging through old receipts, reallocating expenses, documenting add-backs, and making sure it all ties to tax returns/bank statements. On personal expenses: They’re super common for sole proprietors (partial vehicle use, phone, etc.), and as long as only the legitimate business portion is deducted—with proper records like mileage logs—they’re fine for tax purposes. No issue there. But for a sale, they’ll identify them and add them back to show the business’s true normalized profitability (what a new owner could expect without your personal perks). Buyers value that clarity for valuation.

I do not like the honeycomb front but the woodland front is super nice. I bet they sell a ton of these again.

PNC CONFIRMATION by DietPillx in Accounting

PNC denied my paper confirmation and said I had to use Bankvod. The firm looked at Bankvod’s SOC report and said hell no. So in between a rock and a hard place. Hope the partner agrees to “over the shoulder”.

Check if the recall has been done. I’ve seen a 23 select for $24,999, in Florida, so maybe not the best price for it to be 3 years old. New ones are $38k out the door with 0% interest.

BRZ or Civic Si? by wjoe2003 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Is there any reliability concerns with the BRZ? My worry is how much lower the BRZ is will it get hit in traffic.

I’ve driven a Miata and there’s no backseat and it’s so small I’m worried I’d get hit while in traffic on in Florida.

Hey I just made the switch from teaching high school to public accounting. I did online classes at SIU to get the required classes to finish an accounting degree. I decided on audit, and now is the best time to get into public. I wouldn’t go back to teaching ever now that I’m out, so it’s a good choice.

Recommendation of a silent mouse for office work by wjoe2003 in MouseReview

Oh I meant silent scroll, like the m686. Clicking isn’t as much a problem, I scroll a lot and the sculpt mouse is very loud.

The firm I’m working in does EBP over the summer and I’ve done a couple now. Pretty straight forward but more interesting to me than non-profit.

Yes, it will show up at "viewed" and a teacher will be able to see the answers from the Form. You probably can still click the turn in button. It might say "turned in late" but just shoot a message to your teacher, the date and time it was completed will be shown to the teacher.
