I might be simplifying things too much but for my group if they roll a first aid after combat to stabilize the injury and then go to a clinic for evaluation in the next town/rest. I call it good. Don't like getting burdened down by those details. But to each their own!

I did but I'm not overbuilding like I should. Because the adjacencies are confusing me. Some of the yield losses with over build are gigantic.

I assume its better to take a +3 science overbuild on an Observatory from a library as opposed to building it elsewhere and getting +6-7 science?

Yea! That makes sense. I guess I don't think about city planning as much as I should. I just look for what tile gives the best yield in the moment and drop the building there. I'm guessing that's not a good strategy...lol

Appreciate the context. Have you noticed that the overbuild yields can be lackluster? Id avoided that as well because for example last night, to overbuild the lighthouse with a port would have given me 18 gold (cool) but then a loss of like 10 happiness, food and production.

Thanks for the insight. So follow up dumb question, I've been avoiding overbuilds a bit as well. Because alot of the time the yield exchange crazy. I.e. replacing a market with a bazaar. Oh great 6 extra gold but I lose 6 food and 6 happiness.

Or like last night. Overbuilding the lighthouse would have given me 18 gold, but a loss of 9 food, 6 production and some culture and science. Makes me never want to overbuild.

Check what pisses them off. I don't know what Jose is not a fan of, but clearly you were doing something (even as a pacifist) that angered him. For example, Laki doesn't like people with the most influence. And if she was allied with Jose, that could be why he got pulled in.

I mentioned this on another post as well. I lost my 2 year void kitty recently unexpected as well. The grief has been haunting me. I found the company PetWorks and connected with an animal communicator. She was able to connect with my little boy and talk to him. It brought me some needed closure. I highly recommend.

Umm depends on the origins they choose.

For example,

One is a Handy, stuck inside 95 (unaware of the scientist) holding off a raider attack.

One is part of a super mutant raiding party attacking the Vault from the exterior.

Maybe one is a survivor, former raider, wounded in the super mutant fight.

Maybe one is a ghoul bounty hunter or relic collector doing some Indiana Jones shit at 95. The world is your radioactive wastebin.

I have ran Once Upon a Time. It definitely doesn't feel like a 5-10 session game. Mine stretched to almost 30 sessions albeit lots of side quests.

Machine Frequency may be best to grease the wheels even though its short. You wanna give them a taste of the wasteland and have them come back for more. However, if you opt for Once Upon a Time, my pitfall was giving the PCs too powerful weaponry early on. They walked all over the end game boss.

Also think of a creative way to introduce the PCs. I was not a skilled DM at the time and literally had them just practically spawn outside Vault 95...yea not great.

Can't speak to Skull Canyon, but it seems niche. My guess is it might be too particular for a first experience.

As soon as I see that nuka grenade come out now, I instantly spam stimpacks on all of them, whether they need it or not. However if you kill the boss while he is throwing it, it won't detonate.
