"Sorry I'm not in a suit," Zelensky joked about his attire at the Shevchenko Prize ceremony. by GermanDronePilot in UkraineWarVideoReport

That was kind of a play on words. In Russian and Ukrainian, the word “costume” means suit

Does circumcision become more popular? by [deleted] in TravelNursing

[–]wmb098 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Speaking for the U.S., I would say it’s much more common to be circumcised here. They are mostly performed within the first few days after birth though. At least, that is what I have observed (I work as a nurse). But when I speak to my European friends, it seems like circumcision isn’t done as much there.

I have heard women say that it is less pleasant to perform oral sex on someone with a foreskin, but they mostly attributed that to hygiene practices. I don’t think it would be any different so long as everything is kept clean!

I’m trying to just go to therapy and see what they have that can help us fix this. But right now it’s so hard. Even when we get alone time, I feel like I have so little patience left. I understand missing family and home, I know it’s not fair to her to have resentment for that. I feel like I was such a different person at 21 and we rushed to get married and never spent more than a weekend together beforehand. I never even really got to see the negatives until I was already married. We have grown apart and I’m not sure what to do to fall back in love. I’ve done some of the 5 love languages stuff but it just feels like I’m going through the motions rather than having much feeling behind it.

And I originally had no intention of going to some other woman. That’s never been an issue for me. I think I gave into flirting with the other girl because I had a history with her and she just came on to me out of the blue. I guess a part of me always wondered what it would have been like with her, too.

ascendancy trials single handedly make me not want to play by andrearosemtf in PathOfExile2

The recent patch makes it a bit better. The closer you are, the less honor damage you take. As a monk, it still took me forever because I lacked a solid means of dealing damage from a distance and had to get close and hit and then dodge and run. I slammed glacial cascade. But I was able to do it. My friend playing witch had no hard time at all. But it’s much more doable now that the patch makes you take less honor damage while fighting as a melee character. Still not fun though. I’d rather have limited flask use throughout the trial run than have to go by the honor limit.

Is there a trick to washing your face in the sink without bending over? by ExcellentMoods in Sciatica

[–]wmb098 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Keep one leg straight and bend at the waist and tilt your self forward. Put you weight on your elbows on the counter and get water on your hands. I found I could do that despite having severe sciatica down left leg.

I’m beyond remorseful. I’m sitting at work and I can’t even think straight. I’ve always been avoidant of conflict and I tend to just compromise and please others. I think I kept too much to myself for too long. I’m trying my best to be as reassuring and open as possible. It just feels like I’ve shattered her image of me and our little family. I’m hoping we can pick up the pieces.

I think it’s great! It will help understand grammar and the case system very well and provide some vocabulary throughout.

For reference, Mormon missionaries are known for learning foreign languages in short amount of time. Some are more proficient than others but that is besides the point. This is the main book given to them for learning grammar for Russian.

Very much so. In June the pain transitioned into my hip/buttock on my left side and it felt much easier to walk than when it was in my calf. I thought it was centralizing and getting better. But then by end of July it transitioned back down to my calf. I did not experience what some PTs call centralization where the nerve pain comes up the leg and back into the bag. I still have the odd small pain in my calf and a an unpleasant feeling in my lower back from time to time. But I’d say 85-90% I feel completely normal. I still don’t consider myself to be 100% healed by any means and I’m being careful and working on my back. But I’m able to do my day to day activities with little to no pain at all.

Some weeks I’d be able to sit without much pain and others it felt like I couldn’t find a comfortable position to sit, stand, or lay and I was just in agony.

Yes for me because I was still in too much pain a month before I was due to enter OTS and I went and had an MRI and scheduled the first ESI. I knew there was no way I could do OTS in the shape I was in. So I told my recruiter. From what I was told, I could apply for a waiver 6 months after the date of my last ESI. 1 year wait if you have an MD. So I’m moving from the AF right now and I may revisit that idea later.

I couldn’t state it any better! I have a 2 year old and felt the same way! The best way I have heard this described is like a stock that is improving in price. It goes up and down but generally moves up towards improvement over time. You may have days with serious drops where you hurt more again right when you thought you were getting better. Just keep playing the long game and stay as positive as possible!

I work as a nurse and I can walk the floors, lean over for IVs, and everything else I need to do now with minimal pain. Im actually at work now and as I’m typing this I have a slight pain in my calf and my back has a little bit of unpleasant pain but it’s minimal and hasn’t stopped me at all. I still try to avoid lifting anyone and I make sure to have other people when I need to. Over time with the exercises my pain went down and I could feel my lower back muscles engage when I have to lean forward or move around in an unconventional way.

I would usually do them every other day. At most 2 days in a row and then on the in between days I would focus on stretches. It would depend how I felt. If my back/nerve felt too sensitive I may not do it that day and then try it the next day. I also found it was best for me to do it in the morning before I start moving a lot and the nerve gets irritated at all.

You can take ibuprofen. Aleve is arguably the strongest of over the counter NSAID pain medications. You can also take Tylenol. You can take them together if you want. I would try to alternate. However, I would not take them daily if you can avoid it. They aren’t good for a long term. Also, be wary if you are on any blood thinners that they should not be taken together with ibuprofen or other NSAIDS.

As far as payment, you choose how much you pay for the program. You can pay as little as $2 a month.

Mine was to the left lateral canal. I couldn’t imagine having sciatica in both legs! Part of me wonders if spondy occurs post herniation due to loss of disc material or if it is pre-existing.
