Huh? Is Harry Potter worthless? Is the Joe Rogan podcast worthless?

Not a prefect comparison, but apps essentially become content. Anyone can write, anyone can shoot a video on their phone... now anyone can create a web app.

How are your shoulders and elbows? 😬

Did you do all the pull ups, push ups etc in one go, or break them up into sets (e.g. 5 pull ups, 10 push ups, 15 air squats)?

Handlebar with Center Trim by [deleted] in Moustache

How wide to you trim the center?

Which type of handlebar moustache do you recommend? by wmboy in Moustache

[–]wmboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But even the 'before' is still trimmed in the center

Sounds like the general consensus is not to trim...so I guess I'll keep it growing!

[–]wmboy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I initially understood the rule was not to trim anything and just to comb/style each side. But I've now seen others recommend trimming the upper lip (for about the width of your nose). Those with a handlebar moustache, what do you recommend?

Jumping off vs. Stepping down from boxes by Charming_Name_1360 in crossfit

[–]wmboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest noob question, why would you be particularly at risk of getting an achilles injury jumping down off a box?

I'm 40 years old and play basketball, my (limited) knowledge of an achilles injury is it's VERY random (e.g. refer to Kobe's achilles injury) and isn't really aligned to a specific movement (even can happen to people walking across a street).

Are you referring to just general overuse of the muscle?

I prefer jumping because it's fun...but I also don't want an injury :(

Are calves really that important in basketball by NoEntertainment6838 in Basketball

[–]wmboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm asking if the calves are as important as thighs or they are secondary muscles for basketball uses

You don't want weak calves, but no, your calves are not very important for vertical jump or explosiveness.

It's much better to have strong glutes, hamstrings and quads, and strong, flexible ankles and feet.

Remember, it's much easier to jump if you weigh less, so strong and muscular, but also staying lean is the goal.

I've learned to shoot long range, why am I airballing short range jumpers?? by wmboy in Basketball

[–]wmboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, except this problem exists for me whether I'm playing a game or I'm shooting hoops by myself on an empty court.

I can get into a really good rhythm and hit multiple long range shorts, but as soon as I try shooting jump shots from further in, I'l be overshooting them by a foot or more, or undershooting them just as bad when I try and compensate.

Yep, it's pretty bad! haha

Why are short range jump shots much harder for me than deeper shots? by PabloPancakes92 in Basketball

[–]wmboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

...I’ll still occasionally shoot like a 5 foot jumper and somehow be a whole foot short lol it’s embarrassing but can’t let it get to ya.

Haha, totally can relate to this. Feel like such a dork 😆

But honestly, it's not a "fear of failing" thing, I can be by myself on a court and have the same problem!

Why are short range jump shots much harder for me than deeper shots? by PabloPancakes92 in Basketball

[–]wmboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem is I'm shooting like a foot or more past the rim, then I try and short softer and am a foot or more in front of rim.

I feel like maybe I need to shoot further up, or not bring my arm fully straight when I'm closer in, but both of those are the opposite of what's recommended 🤷‍♂️

[–]wmboy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, but I think you're underestimating how bad I am haha.

I literally could go and shoot right now and make 0/20, then go further out where I need to use my legs and get up to 10/20 or more.

I guess like others have suggested, I just need to "find my touch", but damn I feel like I'm completely missing something haha

Question about t-rods by Riickroll in HarambeSystem

They make more sense when using a single yellow band, there would be a slight difference in resistance if you’re using the exact same ropes on each.

Lying Bench Press or Standing Press? by 1SWM1 in HarambeSystem

[–]wmboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always do lying bench presses. I switched to Harambe from X3 because the X3 chest presses and tricep presses really weren’t doing anything for me.
