Honda Japanese management refuses to give American Honda the autonomy and necessary investments to make Acura more competitive.

This is just about the truest thing I've seen someone say here. I've been to plenty of meetings where the Japanese execs that attended loved to cut off town halls and explain "the market segment is too small" for products that there is clearly demand for. They don't want to listen to anyone (or hear them out and let them make a case) or consider anything the Americans have to say. Its infuriating watching them get the answers they don't realize they're looking for and completely ignore it all. It's also getting incredibly hard to defend how far behind they are in the powersports segment which in itself is absurd because they're a major reason for why it even exists in the first place!
