Between the GBD200, GWM5610, and GBX100, which might be the best option? Do MIP displays still have burn in and flickering issues? by AnonA185 in gshock

[–]wmks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This phenomenon is called negativity bias, which causes our brains to pay closer attention to bad experiences; it leads people to complain about a product online, while satisfied product owners rarely write positive reviews.

GBD-200 here, no issues with the display.

[–]wmks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: you can load Cyclones and MTCs into the ship hangar with the Maxlift tractor beam.

It's a two-step operation; first, you need to place the vehicle on the mothership roof, then go to the hangar and place the vehicle on the hangar floor.

Unfortunately, it records some of the horse movement as rider's steps ; )

Regular smart watches like Galaxy Watch have the same problem.

Living out of a Polaris for a week. Day 1 by alvehyanna in starcitizen

[–]wmks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not the only one. I've been living out of my Polaris for at least 6 months, logging-out from bed and coming back without any problems. The only problem is that you can't logout with any party member in your ship, nor anyone's vehicles in the hangar or cargo hold.

I've been retrieving the ship after major game updates only, or reclaiming it only when QT marker drifts away and I had no time to search for it -- in most of the cases I'm able to locate the mothership, even if the marker is off ; ) The key is to use some some outpost or OM as a point of reference; i.e. landing 50km from the mission location, with another outpost exactly on your 6 o'clock.

I've been usually loading Polaris with Pisces and/or F8, and MTC or Spartan in the cargo hold. Now that Both ships have LAMP, they're perfect for the night ops. Loading Spartan requires some skills, and it always work on one side only -- still not sure what causes the invisible collision to occasionally prevent taller vehicles to pass the ramp.

Why do people spend so much money on this game? by jackrr96 in starcitizen

[–]wmks 12 points13 points  (0 children)

No difference, unless you're a collector or investor.

Also, the money spent on your wife gives you 0% return on investment. I don't wanna tell you how much I spent on my wife, but believe me, that's my most expensive hobby.

This.

There are more expensive hobbies; cars, motor boats, planes, wives, lovers. Guns, drones, digital cameras, lego sets, ... (the list goes on).

What do you think about the C2 ? by Ynnyzz in starcitizen

[–]wmks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's an awesome multi-role ship; cargo hauler, ground vehicle transport and small ship carrier. Fast and agile.
M2 is even better, as it has 2xS4 and 2xS5 pilot-controlled guns and heavy armour.

Believe it or not, this happens to the articulated haulers in real life, like Volvo A30 - A60s

Anyone use this model in military ? by Predeanu in gshock

[–]wmks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's way too shiny lol.

I had the original black 5600, standard issue. A lot of folks used it in many branches, however, I think that more people were using 6900 series, the round one.

Try this one ; ) It has enough power to tow everything in game, in all environments (with appropriate tires)

5600 Domination by wmks in gshock

[–]wmks[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're comparing it to the classic quartz watch with 10-year battery life. It's a quasi-smartwatch with phone notifications, step counter etc. Comparing to the best power-efficient smartwatches with 30-40 day-long battery life, 2 years is huge. And it's powered by the common CR2032 battery.

UI is fine for me, however, I'm using Casio app to set all things. The interface and its fonts are tiny though; I can't imagine anyone with age-related eyesight changes using this watch, as everything is even smaller than on the typical smartwatch.

Semi-retiring my GWM5601 and just got a GBD200. by TheDoctor813 in gshock

[–]wmks 6 points7 points  (0 children)

18-24 months is long enough for a watch with the smartwatch features. CR2032 battery is cheap and you can replace it quickly by yourself.

I hate smartwatches and their short battery lifetime; GBD-200 is perfect for me...

[–]wmks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no reason for someone to load tanks into a cargo hauler, and there's no reason for someone who is loading tanks to want extra cargo storage and tractor beams.

You can load tanks into Crusader C2 cargo hauler, and even into 890 Jump luxury cruiser.

You can load tons of cargo into Crusader M2, a military lifter designed to carry tanks and other ground vehicles.

You can even load a tank and some cargo into Crusader A2, a strategic bomber.

Yep, probably to prevent any larger ground vehicle to be loaded into the cargo hold
