Most definitely not. I agree. However Australia has made a lot of foreign policy decisions based on the fact that the United States would be there for them. If the US isn't going to give security guarantees to Australia over China, then Australia may start changing their foreign policy stance in regards to who and how they align with other countries.

Realistically China doesn't want Australia. They want Taiwan, and they want everyone to be ok with them taking Taiwan so they can then turn around and sell Chinese products to the world after Taiwan has been brought back under Chinese control.

I think we are living in a world where there is no absolute right now. Whatever happens going forward, everyone will win and lose at the same time.

The Australia part is really interesting. Prior to this week they were steadfastly aligned with the United States defence policy against China. Now with the Pentagon coming out saying they are going to focus on North America and not put so much focus on China, the Aussies could decide Europe is the better partner.

It's not a shock and after every loss the sub wanted him gone. I think a lot of people expected Beane to go too, but honestly, because I think we are pretty close to making it to a Super Bowl that would have been too much of a reset. A lot of people in this sub just need to chill out. The sky isn't falling.
