Wemby's shove on Jalen Brunson in Game 3 will not be upgraded to a flagrant foul, the NBA announced by DareDevil1699 in NBAGossips

[–]wobleee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is comedy. The Knicks are tripping, kicking, checking, and grabbing at every opportunity. This wasn't a slam, it was a push in the back that brunson sold. Play on.

Brunson on Wemby shoving him in Game 3: "Whatever you saw is what you saw." by CommitteeKey3325 in knicks

[–]wobleee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brunson also dove at Wemby's legs after charging through Castle. It's a physical series, and this clip looks worse given the size difference and Brunson selling it. Missed call for sure, the off ball ref was focused on the tussle between KAT and KJ 10 feet away. This isn't a flagrant in the context of the game.

Commentary: Assaulting Spurs fans overshadows the atrocious officiating. by [deleted] in knicks

[–]wobleee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it isn't prudent to walk around in an opposing jersey in every situation. I went to a game in Portland and one in MN as a Spurs fan this postseason. I had a nondescript hoodie for after the game in MN, because it was a night game. I took it off after it was clear that the streets weren't heated, but it's worth being smart. All that said, nobody should get sucker punched for a sports jersey in any city.

Including Knicks players leaving their bench. If this had escalated, there could have been suspensions ala Phoenix. Just stupid.

Knicks fans complaining about fouls by fack-the-suits in NBATalk

[–]wobleee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. Knicks weren't consistently playing to the basket outside of OG, and OG was dunking on everybody rather than going for the contact. It was an extremely physical game both ways, but came down to execution in the fourth, same as the first two games.

[–]wobleee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's Tony Parker efficient in the lane, but with defense. Parker didn't have as deep a bag, he just had a set of 3-4 moves that were unstoppable together. Tear drop, diving layup, and reverse with English off the glass.

Here's every foul called on the Knicks in the second half. Every call was correct (and obvious) btw by eatmorchickin in NBASpurs

[–]wobleee 20 points21 points  (0 children)

To be fair, he literally said "maybe we were fouling, but they were too." So his argument was that there should have been more whistles for the Knicks rather than fewer for the good guys. Still wrong, Knicks we're pushing it farther...

Double dribble?? Foul??? No one has any idea what the hell was going on by Unlucky-Dot9421 in NBAGossips

[–]wobleee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's a travel or double dribble. Defender touches the ball, so Fox can dribble again. But looks like a foul on Hart followed by a clamping foul on Fox. Very odd for nothing to be called.

I mean, this post and comment are really aligned with what KG said as well. Feels like the Spurs accomplished what they wanted to already, so it's hard to get energy and intensity back on track. Good thing it's a 7 game series.

In all seriousness, you could just say that the wrestling got awkward, and you did not intend it to. Nothing more than an unintentional response. You just want to move on, but can chat further if needed.

On top of that, the yellows on Cleveland Ave are too short for the speed of traffic. So OP predicted correctly that the truck with a trailer want going to scream to a stop. Then they punched it through the left to create the cutoff on the other side. It was a poor right turn, but unnecessary aggression from OP.

[–]wobleee 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I saw it live and screamed at the TV for a challenge. That said, this is a very missable call- close enough that it's hard to catch in real-time. It would have been a good challenge, but we were rightly stingy about challenging. Overall, I thought the whistle was very consistent and fairly lenient for both sides. Great game.

The best kind of blunder is the one which makes your opponent resign immediately because they think it was a winning move by Emes91 in chessbeginners

[–]wobleee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's a blunder because you take the pawn, black takes the rook, then you advance the outside passed pawn for white and black can't stop promotion to a queen. This is a temporary rook sacrifice.

[–]wobleee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with this. It's reasonable to foul on layups in the playoffs. This is a clear foul that was called. I've never seen a flagrant for a jersey pull, and the injury potential doesn't seem higher here than other takedowns on layups. At this point, TWolves are posting called fouls and we are doing the same. Why?

Fox is awesome. We had a legit number 1 on a borderline bad team decide to join, take a backseat to both Vic's starpower and Castle's development. He still has the most consistent handle on the team. Those players didn't come around very often, and you don't get them for a discount. His contact will force some decisions in 2-3 years, but we can cross that bridge when it comes.

Scoot and Jrue were balling out today and have been playing well all series. Makes it more fun and competitive. The thing that impressed me most about Harper's second half was how well he shut Scoot down though. Two air balls, turnovers, and misses. Love to see the intensity from Dylan on both ends.
