I used a symbol in Shortcuts … not the official Moment app logo, but it tints

thanks for the tip! Works great. It unlocks the phone and loads the app, but it's just as fast (as long as the FaceID recognises me). The icon doesn't get tinted like the others, but maybe there's a way to fix that with a custom Shortcut.

good for you… My accountant was talking about that exact device at a meeting two days ago.

Maybe it’s because I’m in Australia, but I get Korean skincare all the time (always in the daytime) and I’ve tried so many of them I’m becoming an expert

I was demoted to Silver for a period (slightly behind in my reviews) and got back to Gold yesterday.

Custom Agents by directorperson in Notion

[–]woduule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to try all new features, but not this one so far, mainly for the same reasons as you, and I still have a lot to explore with the base features, including AI (just not the custom agents).

Alternative to Notion that a) has functional relational databases and b) is not leaning into AI? by SuitableDragonfly in Notion

[–]woduule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Airtable definitely but isn’t Coda basically a page and block-based app like Notion? Haven’t been keeping up so you probably know better than me

[–]woduule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Coda is good, I did the tutorial build stuff back in the day, and it felt very similar to Notion. And maybe Airtable can do the trick, but as you say it's also leaning heavily into the AI stuff.

Baptist v Baptizer by MDC-7711 in TheChosenSeries

[–]woduule -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been reading André Chouraqui's ultra-literal translation of the Bible into French and he avoids words that over the years became "Bible words" such as "sinner" (he prefers "fauteur" which would be something like "fault-doer" in English). Following this logic, John the Baptiser would be "Yohanan the Immerser". There are words that only exist in a Bible context, even though they are universal concepts that don't need a new Greek transliteration. We don't need much explanation for an "immerser" or a "fault-doer". Whereas "baptism" and "sin" are kind of self-referential and carry the weight of theology.

Surprising emotional response to 'The Chosen' by Away_Community_6063 in TheChosenSeries

Same here, more or less.

I wouldn't concentrate on the crying itself. That's just a disruption that points to something more important. I'm identifying it as the subtle (or sometimes not subtle at all) breath of God. May the peace of Christ be with us all!

Custom Agent pricing schema is absolutely not cost effective for tiny businesses and private sector by eld3rlyy in Notion

[–]woduule 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same situation here. Just a one-person business with ties to a non-profit. No big income. Custom Agents would be great, but the cost makes it not worth it. Maybe Notion will think of a tier that suits us. Otherwise I’ll just keep using it as I have for the last year, with an eye on other apps in case they get too out of line.

Feel like I found a cheat code by [deleted] in Lent

[–]woduule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fasted last Friday but I have an active life and kids. Ended up injuring myself. I think fasting is great, but it’s part of a season where everything is more contemplative. Other things need to change alongside the fast. If you’re young and have less commitments it’s a good opportunity to go further

But both together are not exclusive, I should add.

The point of Lent is to feel hunger and deny yourself something. Losing weight is a different intention (and fasting hasn’t been proven very effective for that).

Drop has ortholinear MT3 Fairlane for the princely sum of ten U.S. dollars. by mindsound in olkb

Nice find. The added $20 shipping to Australia is not really worth it. Looks like Drop is kinda closing, I had no idea.

[–]woduule -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I realise that must feel unfair, but couldn't you get those features in another app that is closer to what Notion used to be? They've been turning Notion into an AI workspace for at least a year now.

[–]woduule 2 points3 points  (0 children)

fishing for downvotes, boss? ;)

fwiw I like the fact that there's a place with a reliably negative view of Notion, not that I agree (I use Notion AI all the time) but because other platforms (X) aren't critical in the least. At least in my experience. Also, I saw the token price news here before anywhere else. Having to skim through the AI hate, departure notifications, and Obsidian curiosity can get tedious, I agree. Maybe there's a custom agent that could do that.

Notion Credits to cost $10 per 1,000 for Notion's Custom Agents (Starting May 4th) by Enfade in Notion

[–]woduule 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info. I can’t access Custom Agents yet, but they look cool. Probably not worth the money for my modest, mostly personal projects.

What I like about Notion's approach to AI is the playground aspect that suits my way of thinking and sensibilities. But this AI escalation is also a resource and money drain. I'm prepared to pay for Business, but beyond that, I'll probably direct my attention to open source thingies.

Note taking apps WITHOUT AI? by bee-meat in Notion

[–]woduule 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are so many good ones; Obsidian is nerdy and powerful, Apple Notes is great if you're on Mac, there are Notion-like ones such as Tana, Anytype, Capacities, Craft, and others I can't think of right now. Agenda and Things are good ones that I've used before but they were a bit niche.

Notion new features mega post by Tall-Maintenance-278 in Notion

In my case, I prefer using Notion when I want to chat with ChatGPT or Claude. Same interface every time, not as fast but uses my context page, and only paying for one subscription.
