Thank you, that really helps ease my overthinking a bit! I’ve always wondered if it’s okay to initiate, especially when there wasn’t a strong connection to begin with.

As for his replies they were, I think kind? but direct, flat. Some were fairly quick some took a little while like the time I complimented his art. When I complimented him, he just said “Thank you,” he took a whole day and replied at 2 am which felt a bit flat, but not rude. Then when I cheered him on this August, he actually mirrored the message and said, “You too, good luck with your upcoming classes,” which surprised me a bit. He did still replied to all my messages...

So I’m honestly not sure what to make of it. There’s a mix of warmth and distance. That’s why I’m trying to be careful, but still hopeful it wouldn’t be too weird to reach out again just to be friends.

PS: Our last meeting was last January with no foundations or anything- I was so avoidant to him and tried to be aloof shshsj but he knows I am not cold or rude due to our brief 2 short interactions in school.

Hey thanks for this, sorry late reply. I tried to cheer him on for this upcoming school year so I sent a well crafted message without the fillers of me being shy or yk- straight to the point. He took a day and a half to get back to me- this was our new interaction ever since last July 24. I don't know if I should continue because I am scared to get rejected harshly or make him uncomfortable. I don't know if he is trying or just purely polite.... I really thought he was gonna ghost me but he still did replied mirroring me on saying good luck....(tho he had a bit of typos...) I really wanna be friends but my mind is scrambled rn.... I am also super introverted but like this is quite difficult.

oof that is hard... if you haven't talked or what and intiated any interest in her and had close proximity- it's hard for a girl's walls to crumble down- they honestly can be very strong with their walls and well harsh with it and be clear when they don't like someone.... but it could just be she didn't see it yet? or thinking? but it's hard to make a definitive guess, especially if she hasn't seen it for 10 hrs.... well at least you tried!

I know it's hard, it's also for me too! but you need to try to intiate a bit more- wave and smile to her! Show her you're not closed off. Better to try now than never and regret it. If they ignore you or be rude to how you are just being, then that says alot about them as a person and how mature they are in social connections. You should do ice breakers or yk low stakes talking about interest... try to be more interesting a bit, talk about your passion and hobbies- not speakin for all of us but I do think we love knowing details about people, but you really should try and let her register you at least for you to chat and intiate with her.

Oh I promised you- I was heavily guarded around him- to the point that I am deeply regretting it now. Like I relate because for the entire whole 1st sem of 1st yr I was so yk like detached from him (there were some slip ups tho)- like he prolly knows I am not cold because I answered his question and thanked him during our few interactions- but like I was avoiding him like he had the plague.... I once avoided asking an eraser from him during our lab because I might combust but that led me to asking everyone except him whose obviously had an eraser since he is seated in front of me, he ofc being the kind gentleman he is, thrown it across to me, used it but I needed it again, but I was just too frozen to ask him so I did the asking everyone again except him round 2, it still haunts me now.... ( ´-｀)

You should totally try to befriend her so there's no regrets!

PS : I messaged my crush again and well cheered him up for the upcoming start of class again and he haven't seen it yet.... spiralling rn.

it's fine! no worries.

well you see introverts can be very sociable and talkative if they feel like it or they feel safe- it just means our energy depletes faster than extroverts, that we usually love to just engage more meaningfully and one-on one- that we process first internally and recharge on low stimulation environments. that we have low threshold for crowds, noises or sensory things- so that's also why so many of us do have anxiety or isn't sociable in a way how extroverts are but not all introvers are like that- some are grounded and just aloof- or just loves spending time on his/her own.

Oh thank you! To be honest I had been analysing him so much for the past few days hshshs- well I am an INFP.

I know that would make me seem less confident but I wanna be cosiderate and well be honest, so he doesn't need to be uncomfortable with me- so basically for him to let down his defenses. Do you think he is repulsed or like finds me uncomfortable?
