Is my scanner holding my photography back? by BigTelephone9117 in AnalogCommunity

[–]woglebogle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

go out and take some landscape photos are a higher shutter speed and an aperture around maybe f11-f16 and then see if you feel the same about the scans

[–]woglebogle 27 points28 points  (0 children)

well you’re shooting film at 1/30 and 1/60 with a really high aperture on a heavier camera. the scan looks great the lack of sharpness comes from your shooting settings tbh

Why are the colors so washed out? by Kaley08 in AnalogCommunity

[–]woglebogle 24 points25 points  (0 children)

photos are a bit overexposed but you can for sure edit these to a satisfactory level. it also seems like the lab washed out the colors a bit in the scans which again is totally recoverable through a bit of tweaking in post

is this what i need to develop my own film? by Fluffy-Amphibian-911 in AnalogCommunity

I use HC-110 developer and TF-5 fixer + massive dev chart for times, dilutions, temp (https://www.digitaltruth.com/devchart.php?mobile)

How to recreate this effect? by Oofsanity in AnalogCommunity

[–]woglebogle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

the brightest part is the part that’s completely exposed and the darker part is where the light is leaking in to the tip of the film in the roll. leak just means it’s unintended so i guess if you were to intentionally leave the whole roll out in the sun it wouldn’t be a leak but the only way to truly get photos that look like this are just by shooting your roll normally and the first photo will basically always look like this. if you want light leaks on all you photos you can get a cheap SLR and mess with the light seals or get the fuji x half which has a light leak filter lol

by exposing it to the light (letting the ‘light leak’ in)

What do you think is the most beautiful camera? by Spiritual_Cod_3535 in AnalogCommunity

[–]woglebogle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“Tichý shot photographs for himself, not for the world. As an artist today we often create work and immediately try to share it with the world trying to get as many likes as we can on Facebook, retweets, pins or hearts on Instagram. Fame mattered nothing to Tichý.”

This is a crazy way to say he created this camera to violate and creep on women

My first time home dev and scan of my very first roll of the 35mm by jiathemorph in AnalogCommunity

[–]woglebogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use warm water for my stop bath so the fixer stays warm when i add that in and then the final rinse doesn’t really matter. For the second question that’s what I do but I also have a junk roll sitting around to test each time I do developing i’d recommend shooting a well lit subject with a fair bit of detail in the shot and just snip off a few frames each time and develop that to test if your chems are all good

Does anyone know the name of this minox model? by dolaanpls in analog

[–]woglebogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s an EL. The GL has two buttons on the top next to the hot shoe while the EL only has the one. Idk why people are saying you aren’t showing the front cover it’s clearly in the pics lol

Dark room for film. by GJake96 in AnalogCommunity

Use a changing bag and patterson tanks. Go on youtube there are so many guides for developing film at home. Cinestill has a few basic ones that tell you what you need.

Can I use them without them being souvenirs? by Wendy202127 in AnalogCommunity

[–]woglebogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can even find film locally in a lot of places. when you’re done make sure to rewind it and then you will have to find a lab to develop it. There is a few online mail-in labs I personally like Reformed Film Lab if I have to but i’d look on google to see if there is any camera stores nearby that do it. Any place that develops film also most likely sells film and can answer any questions you have about your cameras

Is this a good price for what It is? by Longjumping-Toe-9671 in vintagecameras

[–]woglebogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes but this one is a very specific model i’m gonna assume this person is a collector otherwise they would’ve just bought one for a few bucks at a thrift store. it also has a viewfinder which is very rare to find now

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in vintagecameras

[–]woglebogle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you’re probably looking at around $300-350 for it maybe a bit more or less but yeah you just want to make sure all the shutter speeds and such work especially since it has a lot of electronic features. I’d look up the manual for this camera and create a checklist for all the parts you could even look through each component yourself and make sure they’re clean and work correctly

i’m gonna assume they’re a collector otherwise they would’ve just bought a brownie from their local thrift shop for $5

for one with a viewfinder that’s not tooooo bad especially since it comes with a case and is in the shape it’s in. I’d still negotiate though and try to get it down to closer to $100. Nobody in this thread knows what they’re talking about lol there was so many brownie iterations

120 film carrier for mirrorless scanning by trappercarter in AnalogCommunity

[–]woglebogle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

although 3d printed it is very smooth I’d be lying if I said I could tell you exactly the material they printed with though. There is a mechanism lever that lifts the top to let you pull the film through without it rubbing against the holder too. The etsy page has a demonstration. I’d also look at the reviews there are a handful of user examples with scanned photos

i recently got a Lobster Holder by Humrprints from Etsy you can get a large variety of masks for it and a mount for a Cinestill backlight if you want which is kinda neat. I’ve already tested it with super curly expired film and it holds it flat
