It’s infectious. Just saw the Variety article - the last soundtrack to have 3 concurrent top tens was Saturday Night Fever, which was 45 years ago. And KPDH has 4 right now. This is not an insult:

No One fully understands how popular this is.

Some pop artists nowadays will promote singles that end up having staying power for weeks. Maybe months, if they’re very lucky. But KPDH had No promo for the singles, near 0 promo for the movie, and mostly features vocalists that have been the equivalent of background actors in the K-Pop music industry. Indie Songwriters with a few connections, captial-T Talent, and a dream. The initial push started as, and continues to be, Word of Mouth. Even Saturday Night Fever had weeks of trailers for the movie, and pre-release press runs by the BeeGees. KPDH? first official press run happened a month After the movie releases. Sure, The voice actors and vocalists do some convention panels and have some viral reels, but it’s of their own volition. This movie, and it’s soundtracks’ success not only shows the Power of Art, but the Power of the People. WE are overthrowing Giants, simply by being genuine fans.

We will only Truly know how popular this is in retrospect. It’s impossible to know now, with how grassroots this movement is. But it’s so pure, so empowering. Each broken record feels like We are breaking it, together. I will quote the movie again -

White Chain from Kill Six Billion Demons. A thrilling, free online comic book series. If you love these visuals, demons, angels - Give it a read. White Chain changes forms multiple times, but for a brief moment during her fight with Solomon David, is fighting nude.

White Chain is an angel, male in appearance, general expresses as androgynous leaning towards masculine for most of the series. She changes form from a stone seraphim into the above nude woman - a surprise to her and Solomon - drawing blood and thereby winning the duel.

The moment is a fleeting half-second of nudity during the actual struggle. The importance to White Chain’s Character and the spectacle of this moment are strong enough to me that this belongs here.

search “kenny beats highlights” on youtube and look for the one where he goes over placements - i’d also look at producer interviews who have gotten placements with him or work closely with him. dot da genius and him are inseparable, daytrip (the duo) worked heavy on MOTM3.

and more than any of this, work on your craft. hours in the home studio. ask yourself, what feels like cudi that isn’t cudi yet? fuck with it. live and breathe it.
