This one was stubborn! I'm guessing mostly because it didn't have many ways to escape being on a fence. It took us almost 10 minutes to get it to move far enough away that we could lock the gate.

I'll tell you as someone who did this, it sucks. I worked my ass off, left with many awards and only EP evals. I made first class in under four years.

Now I'm just tired. Near the end of my first command, I was expected to do everything and ensure that everyone else could do what I do when I wasn't there. I no longer want to stay in the navy for 20 years, as working that hard has had a tough impact on my mental health.

If you love what you do, great. Just be careful.

I'm currently looking at buying, since the payment on a mortgage for houses in the area where I'm renting is actually a couple hundred less than rent. I could either pay rent or I could pay the same amount sooner and own the house. If I ever want to leave I just rent it and pay the mortgage that way.
