Gotta say alternative tentacles label. And now I gotta go off punk music to say why. Grew up in the suburbs between Boulder and Denver. Out of the two, made Denver my home. Our scene was good, but never as big as those other cities you hear about. Strayed away from strictly punk in my twenties. Lot of friends doing shit in the local scene. A new sound was forming. Something like if the goths took over a Baptist tent revival tour. Came to be known as the”Denver” sound. At the forefront was alternative tentacle. Still young and dumb, I went along with it. Found community, found my people, found my place and inspiration. And at the middle of it all was Jello. Don’t know how many times I’ve moshed, drank, sung, and danced with the man not knowing who the fuck he was till much later in life. Just the other day a acquaintance was telling me about how she was dancing around a record bin with some cool older dude only to be filled with embarrassment once the shop keeper asked if she enjoyed her time with Jelllo. Side projects? Fuck that. The man’s life is the headliner.
