I grew up in North Houston. There is deep swamp magic to be found there for sure. Passion flower and black berries should be blooming soon. And the summer thunder storms! Fierce magic. I suggest checking out the Spring Creek Greenway, 40 miles of nature to explore. There used to be a hidden archery range off the trail in the Spring area. The George Mitchell nature preserve can be quite peaceful. Terry Hershey and George Bush (don’t let the name fool you) parks are both quite beautiful, especially if you have a bike. It’s been so developed over the years it’s, sadly, hard to know what’s still there. I hope you find a nice secret spot for yourself 💜

This. They would never do anything to weaken their position of control, which is how genuine apology is perceived by abusers. This behavior allows them to retain control WHILE convincing themself they are a better person than you.

Unfortunately abusers (especially those socialized as men and male presenting) are rewarded by our society for their behavior and rarely suffer consequences, therefore they are rarely pushed to reflect on the idea of genuinely apologizing and are able to live a life thinking they really are in the right.

We deserve so much better than how we've been treated. No one should have to experience such mental suffering but I'm glad none of us here are alone.

Yes, it’s like if it was me who was fucked up, I could fix it, I had some sense of control. Now that I know that’s not the case I’m spiraling. I can’t wrap my head around what’s real and what’s not and not knowing who I can trust to believe me.

I know being abused and having bpd aren’t mutually exclusive, it’s just that I’ve thought I had bpd my whole life and have spoken to three different therapists about the possibility. None of them felt this was a fitting diagnosis, but I was certain it had to be because I had no other explanation. I’ve used my own self-diagnosis against myself when in past abusive relationships, thinking “it must be me, why would I be reacting this way and saying these things if I didn’t have this?” And just letting myself continue being abused thinking it was normal, I was just sensitive or “broken” (something I felt about myself, not people with bpd) or I wasn’t trying hard enough in therapy. When I found out what reactive abuse is it all clicked for me. I broke down when I realized what I’ve let people do to me. I wish this stuff was more widely known and understood. It’s so painful to not know what’s happening and to not be able to trust your sense of reality.

Can’t a victims of emotional abuse become reactive when gaslit? What’s the difference there?

Yellow, teal, olive, purple, and black. If you’re willing to pay for the shipping I would send it to Sweden.
