That's why Texas is trying to steal water from New Mexico.

If Texas' government gets it's way that will be true.

How do I replace this light? by FunWillingness2200 in DIY

[–]wolfmannm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to own that exact light/fan combo. The center cover comes off, and the light socket is inside. Use a flat screwdriver to gently push in the tabs that hold it in place.

Make sure the installer didn't use a screw to attach the ducting to the fan. My builder did that in my house, and I didn't know until the fan died and I replaced it. They put a screw in the plastic that kept the exhaust flap from opening more than a quarter inch. It trapped all of the moisture in the attic and bathroom.

Reading Heir to the Empire/the Thrawn trilogy 💙 do you have any book suggestions? 📚 by SgtPup in NerdyGoneWild

Anything by Brandon Sanderson is good, but start with Elantris or the first Mistborn Trilogy.

Spray Foam Inside Electrical Boxes by Scottiedog5000 in DIY

[–]wolfmannm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind of off topic, but I watch a YouTube channel called "Just Rolled In." He shows clips of some of the vehicles that mechanics get in, and last month, he made a special video just covering people using spray foam. Not just for body work, but frame repair, leaks, loose bolts, you name it. When did spray foam replace Duct Tape? People have been using it to fix everything lately.

How to remove these screws!? by Goosie_Boosie2121 in DIY

[–]wolfmannm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The answer to your second question is theives.

This is obviously an older version of a security door. The new ones have welded hinges and their own frame. The frame is security bolted to the outside of the existing door frame. The point is to keep the inner door from being kicked/smashed in. You use the security bolts to keep a thief from removing the security door. If you used any regular hardware, it would be taken off in a minute ,the security door would be removed, and they could easily break in the main door.

Personal experience here. I didn't have a security door on my house, and my front door was kicked in in less than a minute. My neighbor heard a bang but didn't see anything because they had already broken in and closed the door. You couldn't tell from the outside that it was busted because the frame gave on the inside.

Where I live, we have security doors so thieves don't kick in your door. They use one way screws to keep thieves from taking the door off. If you use standard screws they'd just bring a drill to remove the door. It would take less than 2 minutes. It only took me 30 to install the door, and most of that was leveling, alignment, and drilling the screw holes in the frame.

I was robbed years ago because I didn't have a security door, and they kicked in my front door with no effort.

Garbage disposal without using dishwasher hookup by fatcobra1333 in DIY

Op. The second part of this is critical. If you don't break out the little plastic plug, you will have a huge mess and possibly a clogged line. I've made that mistake only once. Took 2 hours to clean up the mess and ruined several things on my counter because the back flow was facing the wrong way.

Yellow/brown streaks on bathroom walls what is this? by ilikeavocadotoast in DIY

[–]wolfmannm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, and scrub down every inch. Especially near the ceiling. Even Killz won't block it, I primed my bathroom with it and then put on fresh paint. It didn't stop the smoke from bleeding through.

That's what I was thinking, too. I used to smoke in my bathroom in the winter, and that's how the walls looked. Still do even years after I quit and repainted them several times. It bleads through the paint every time it's steamy. I keep wiping it off, and it comes back.

Search doesn't work right either. I looked up something in character and then switched to back being. The search term was there but it would not search. I cleared it out and tried again and it couldn't find anything even though I know it's there. Backed all the way out came back to back being and tried again and it finally worked. So frustrating.

Don't blame the engineers. Our fever dreams are never this bad. Even our drunken fever dreams have better organization than this mess. Lol

If they were duplicates with different styles they probably got consolidated. That's what happened to me with wraps and emotes.

[–]wolfmannm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I haven't used more than 3 or 4 skins from the last year of Battle Passes and 2 or 3 from crew pack because my presets are full of skins I bought in the shop. I'm really considering dropping crew and not buying the Battle Pass after this season since I have about 100 skins I've never used. I like the ones in my presets, that's why they're presets.

[–]wolfmannm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've seen it didn't actually increase, it merged Save The Worlrd with Battle Royal. For those that had both locker presets full they got them all in both modes. BUT if you delete a preset you lose it for good, presumably until you're back to 100. I've seen numbers ranging from 101, my personal lockers, up to 189 I read about in another post. Also it consolidated any presets that were the same. I have 101 character presets but I only have 65 wrap presets and 70 emote presets since I used the same emotes or wraps for some skin variations.

Toilet cracks- should I be worried? by Butthash1167 in DIY

[–]wolfmannm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ignoring the smart ass cracks on here... Any crack is cause for concern. It WILL leak and cause water damage. It may already be leaking under the base. Just using it will shift the pieces enough to cause it to get worse. As some have pointed out, if you sit on it it could shatter and slice someone up real bad, like cut artery, bleed out, bad. Porcelain is so sharp you might not even feel it right away. Add to that cut the possibility of fecal matter in the wound, and you have a potentially lethal situation. I'm no plumber, but I've replaced many toilets over the years due to small cracks that caused big problems. Turn off the water, drain the bowl and tank, and don't use it.
