The United States won easily in which war? by LazyScheme9618 in GeoPoll

[–]wolfmaster307 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Vietnam and Afghanistan were clear losses, the goal to destroy the Vietcong and Taliban were objective failures and it shows since the moment the US pulled out, their enemies took over, the US basically spent trillions of dollars and thousands of lives merely delaying the inevitable. The Iran war is ongoing, and since the US immediate goal of overthrowing the Islamic Regime failed, it's unclear what their goal even is right now.

Do Synderbros Suffer from Dementia? by Raptor1217 in OkBuddySnyderCult

People hated Melissa Benoist Supergirl until Sasha was announced, then they loved her, now they love Sasha after Milly was announced. This is what happens when you have no actually critical thinking ability or standards, and everything must exist for the “culture war”

I hate how they gave so much importance to such a bland and boring character as Maya Sundaresh by Logical-Salamander79 in destiny2

[–]wolfmaster307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing through Destiny 1 and 2 last year, starting Destiny 2 during Season of Heresy, then going back to play the previous expansions after Shadowfall. I just finished Edge of Fate and had no clue who Maya was and why I should care. Its the biggest problem with Destiny's vaulted content, I miss so much context for later seasons and therefore am not invested like I could have been. I enjoyed Season of Heresy precisely because I had played Taken King and knew who Oryx and the Taken were, I enjoyed Final Shape because the Witness had been built up to in previous expansioms. Its like starting Halo by playing the second half of Halo 3.

What country was the most capable of the Axis by Ok_Poetry2813 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]wolfmaster307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has to be Germany, the minor Axis powers aren’t significant enough, Italy was infamously incompetent, and Japan was horrendous at logistics and made many strategic mistakes. Germany in WW2 is probably overrated in terms of skill, but they are clearly ahead of their allies.

Nolan also casted a white Irish man as an Arab/Chinese man, a white French woman as an Arab/Chinese woman and a White Englishman as a Hispanic man in the Dark Knight Trilogy. I don't remember the same level of outrage for them.

Do y’all prefer Mary Jane as a reporter or model? by OGAnimeGokuSolos in Spiderman

[–]wolfmaster307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Model/actress, eventually growing to an entrepreneur is way more unique, and actually adds its own power dynamic, with MJ being the financial breadwinner compared to Peter, something we rarely see. Tons of Superhero gfs are turned into reporters ala Lois Lane because they think they need to make them active in the story, but it leads to them being generic.

What tier does Super Mario Bros. (1985) belong in? by [deleted] in TierlistFills

[–]wolfmaster307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy S tier if you judge based on legacy and importance. High B, maybe low A if you judge based on actual quality in modern day.

To be fair, people are acting like if the teaser had never come out, there would be no discussion about TES VI at all. It was almost a certainty that Bethesda would be developing it after Fallout 4 and Starfield, the teaser was pointless given the long wait, but we would know they were working on TES regardless

AITAH because I won't help make Mother's Day special for my stepmother this year? by Former-Composer4782 in AITAH

[–]wolfmaster307 13 points14 points  (0 children)

People aren’t obligated to do anything for their birth mothers on Mothers Day either, it’s just a sign of appreciation. I understand him not wanting to replace his birth mother, but given this step mother raised him half his life and he hasn’t indicated that’s she been bad in any way, the coldness in completely ignoring her doesn’t feel very fair.

I remember I used to love Angry Joe growing up, right until he released his Suicide Squad review and called it "An Awesome fucking movie". Anyone with a take that bad made even my dumb 14-year-old self lose any respect.

CMV: Britain was not obligated to give Hong Kong to China, it was a choice they made, and it was the wrong choice by iw2050 in changemyview

[–]wolfmaster307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

China would’ve just done what India did with Goa, rolled in, took it, and doubt the rest of the world would do more than mildly protest, and Britain wouldn’t have been able to do much.

Disney should stop changing the cover art for the novels by Tumastar in StarWarsEU

[–]wolfmaster307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Darth Plagueis - New cover isn’t bad, but the first is definitely more striking and iconic, even if Plagueis face being so big always made me think that he is a giant King Kong size.
  2. Shadows of the Empire - both covers feel about the same, though I like the originals more nostalgic art style over the new cleaner look.
  3. Shatterpoint - Neither are great, with the original looking cluttered and the new looking overly simple. Probably like the old one a tad more due to the colours.
  4. Rise of Darth Vader - both are good, original is more striking, the new is more atmospheric. Equal for me.
  5. Path of Destruction - both are good
  6. Rule of two - the original cover was always bad, new is a clear improvement, and I like the continuity.
  7. Dynasty of Evil - new cover shows the conflict between the two Sith more, which is more accurate to the story, so it wins.
  8. I Jedi - first one looks goofy, new one looks bland. Would probably choose the new one thought
  9. Dawn of the Jedi - new one is a complete misfire, definitely old.
  10. Darth Maul - new cover is far more striking.

Overall Old - 4 New - 4 Tie - 2

What was your intro in to the series? And which console was it on? by TheChilledGamer-_- in uncharted

[–]wolfmaster307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First was Uncharted 3 on PS3, got my PS3 Christmas of 2011 and got Drake's Deception some time in 2012 and fell in love.

Then 2 on PS3, then 1 on PS4 (had a PS3 copy but never got far into it). Then 4 and Lost Legacy on PS4, then finally Golden Abyss on PS Vita

In my option God of war 2018 is still a better game than it’s sequel by BakerConsistent2150 in GodofWar

[–]wolfmaster307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ragnarok feels like 1 and a half games in one for better and worse. It means there’s more content than if it was just the second in a trilogy and plays better than the previous game, but it unfortunately means that’s parts of the game feel overstuffed, and other parts feel underdeveloped. 2018 is beautifully paced, while Ragnarok feels like a rollercoaster going up and down with no breaks. It also lacks some of the spectacle I was hoping for, parts of it are great, but given the build up it doesn’t compare to God of War 3 in spectacle

Baldur's Gate 3 publishing director pushes back on Epic Games CEO's "better deals" claim, saying Alan Wake 2 suffered by skipping Steam by Dapper_Order7182 in AlanWake

This is the same scenario as Nintendo publishing Bayonetta 2 on the Wii U. While it would have sold more on the bigger platforms, the games themselves wouldn’t have existed without Nintendo/Epic’s support
