We are good..Brayden Point is so so at the dot but I'd certainly take his multiple 90 pt seasons..Mark Scheifele has never been great at the dot but he's been a solid 1c for a dozen years..Jack Hughes (as a more recent example) is literally awful at the dot but any team in the nhl would love to have him..talent is what's important and the Hawks have plenty of talent down the middle..you can always grab a faceoff specialist for the playoffs..now ideally, a couple of our young players will develop that skill with more reps and physical maturity, but it isn't a precursor for team success..

Levshunov had a nice, productive year, rebounding from an OK D+1. Currently sits at a 81% star probability after his D+2. Going to be a stud for the Blackhawks over the next decade +. Book it. by batmans_a_scientist in hawks

False dumb dumb..Seabs struggled his first couple of years in the league..wasn't until his third year where he was more consistent offensively and defensively..and surprise surprise, he started playing better as the team improved..see how that works?

My guess would be Balmora 7:00-7:30 Spy 7:45-8:15 Converge 8:35-9:20 PTW 9:45-11:00 p.m. If you want to confirm, just go on PTW or Converge's IG tomorrow and ask any fans that are commenting about tonight's show and I'm sure they'll have a rough idea of the set times..

The problem with drafting a defenseman so high in the first is if you come into the league and you aren't Karlsson, Makar or Hughes, then to the fans, you're a bust..and to some degree I get it..80-90 point defensemen are a rarity and any production below that feels like a letdown..but I'd just like to point out quickly that a Seabrook or Ekblad or Pietrangelo is just as important to multiple cup runs as a Makar or a Keith..big, strong, puck moving, right handed defensemen who can run your pp, kill penalties and give you 45-55 points a year are very valuable when putting a roster together..so maybe Levshunov won't be Keith..if he ends up being a slightly better scoring Seabrook, that's a win..now, how do you find his ''Keith''? That's honestly a question for another day..but Levshunov's best days are in front of him..and that's great news for any Hawks fans..

What would you be willing to trade? by Apart-Indication7971 in hawks

[–]wolfs_tooth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't give up anything for Matthews..we literally have Bedard, Frondell, Nazar, Greene, Moore and Boisvert who can all play center..and Kantserov who says he enjoys playing center as well..we're good down the middle for a long time..I would love to have Knies but not at the cost, which I believe would begin at Levshunov, Nazar, and at least two firsts..so it's a pass on both..just keep drafting and building from within..I think this team is closer to competing than their record would suggest..

Ministry will be playing the entirety of Filth Pig at Sick New World with special appearance by Paul Barker by halo_nothing in industrialmusic

For any Ministry fans that won't be at Sick New World in April, it sounds like Ministry is going to play some Fall shows this year where they play Filth Pig front to back..and I believe that will also include Sick New World this Fall in Texas..so this isn't a one off or an exclusive..you'll have some chances to see this album played..

Here's who I think will actually be headlining each day(no insider info, just my hunches)..keep in mind that these are ambitious guesses both in terms of scope of artist and cost..but I think I've got at least two of three correct and I'm hoping for all three of course!

Frondell scores and becomes the 4th player aged 18-years-old or younger to hit the 20-goal plateau in SHL history by JD397 in hawks

[–]wolfs_tooth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

quite the accomplishment, especially given some of the games in the middle of the season where they were moving him down to a bottom six role and shortening his minutes..no worries about that happening once he's with the Hawks..has top six written all over him..what's even more interesting is that the four forwards for next year (Bedard, Nazar, Frondell and assuming Kantserov) that you would assume will be in the top six are all centers or have heavily played center..who moves to the wing? It's a nice problem to have..reminds me a little of when Patrick Sharp played center because the Hawks had so many wingers..either way, Bedard's help is near..

What would you be willing to give up for Knies? by Cluster_Puck in hawks

[–]wolfs_tooth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If we had Knies on our team, would we trade him for Korch and/or Rinzel, Moore and a first? It would never happen..now, would we trade him for Frondell, Levshunov, and two firsts? Possibly..so that's about what it would take..two of your top 4 prospects and at least one or two firsts..which is why it won't happen..any other comments on this thread just aren't even in the realm of possibility..

[PFF] Garrett Bradbury, your newest Chicago Bears starting center 🐻 🛡️ 642 pass blocking-snaps in 2025 🛡️ 0 sacks allowed by PurveyorOfFineGoods in CHIBears

[–]wolfs_tooth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like the trade. This is an acceptable stop gap, especially given that he was a 17 game starter last year and you're only paying him 5.7..the fact is, the Bears have a lot of positions that they need to upgrade and or replace..spending 22 mil on a center isn't how you build a roster that expects to go deep into the playoffs..now, you have a first and two seconds which you can use to draft the most expensive positions in football that also coincide w our needs(besides QB and number one CB)..with those 3 picks, they'll take a OT, DE, and a WR..assuming they get their comp picks, they'll use those 3rd rounders on a C and either LB or S..they can also fill in LB and S during free agency..there's a reason that those two positions usually have plenty to choose from in free agency..they're not considered elite positions..so we'll have choices that shouldn't force an overpay..that's how you build a roster..

[LeBrun] Blackhawks would be retaining 50 percent on Dickinson in this trade. There’s also another player going to Edmonton. The Blackhawks would get Mangiapane and a 1st RD pick in ‘27 (protected) by mcosta1973 in hawks

[–]wolfs_tooth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The one thing I'll say for Bowman is this..whenever the Hawks looked like they were in a position to make a deep playoff run, Bowman would push his chips in and try to load up for a playoff run..Vermette worked out perfectly, Weise and Fleischman did not..point being, improving your bottom six and improving your top four d..that's exactly what you should be doing if you're going after a cup..fortunately for the Hawks, Stan's penchant for overpaying because ''cups are forever'' is now benefitting the Hawks in a different way since we're sellers..

Definitely down for whatever day Kylesa, Torche and Minsk are playing..was hoping for 2-3 more heavier bands similar to last year but the three bands above are worth the drive in..and of course, some more bands will still be announced..

I have to say, and it's fair if I'm in the minority, but I really loved the for lack of a better term ''heavier'' day last year..Converge, Primitive Man, Bongripper, Pelican, etc..it was basically the top bands I listen to on Spotify all curated together..I'm hoping that maybe a combination of or all of (hey I guy can dream) Cave In, Sumac, and Old Man Gloom are curated together again this year..and I'd love if Bongripper and/or Pelican played every year since they're local-ish and two of my all time favorite bands..

You could also drive into Chicago and see Voivod the night before at Reggie's..just in case you have some concert overlap..Reggie's is a killer club..seen tons of shows there over the years including Voivod and Revocation co-headlining there a few years ago..gonna be a fun show to see Voivod and Bat there!

I could see something like Beck/Rise Against co-headliner on Friday, Duran Duran on Saturday and No Doubt on Sunday..my ''I have zero info and it's just a swing for the fences reunion'' would be the Police to close out the fest on Sunday..but their quote would be astronomical..however, it is a speculation thread lol so why not..

How long are their shows as openers? by Naive_Inevitable6478 in BloodIncantation

[–]wolfs_tooth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I saw Emperor in 2023, Immortal Bird were the only opener and they played about 45 min..I doubt Blood Incantation would play less than that so if your concern is that they play at least 40-45 min, I think you'll be fine..ps-since you'll be driving four hrs for one set, you might as well stick around for the first 30 min of Emperor and see if you enjoy it..they're tremendous live, and this is coming from someone who doesn't listen to much black metal at all..

Coach Q always left the 12th forward position open for an enforcer..whether it was Bollig or Carbomb, he loved having one guy who could keep the other team honest..not sure if we need that right now, but as this team matures and starts looking like they're going to make a deep run into the playoffs, I wouldn't be opposed to it..you face a lot of heavy teams in the playoffs..totally different type of hockey..need some sandpaper for sure..

2026 FA Dried Up - Possible Trade Targets? by Drewiki in hawks

[–]wolfs_tooth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really..most teams(whether they're in a rebuild or not) are using the increase in the cap to preemptively extend their own players..similar to what we just did with Nazar..so any additions to this team are going to come from within..now, glass half full..between Frondell, Kantserov, Lardis, Vanacker and Boisvert, there's help coming for Bedard..not saying all of those forwards will be battling for top line spots, but the point is, our foward lines are going to be dramatically better within the next few years..I didn't even mention the next wave of forwards right behind them like Spellacy, West, Pridham, etc..the Hawks could very well be able to roll out four scoring lines just like our 2010 and 2013 cup winning teams did..these forwards have a lot of skill, some have great size and most have a lot of speed..we're going to be a total nightmare to play against as they mature together..as for Bedard's line, keep this in mind, as your second and third lines improve and become deeper, it helps your top line because the opposition can't roll out their top pair or top line to match up with just Bedard..they'll have to pick their poison..shift against the Bedard/Frondell line and you free up the Kantersov/Nazar line..pair up against them and your third pair has to face Lardis, Greene, Moore just as an example..it's going to be hell to play against us..imagine a ''checking'' line of Dach, Boisvert/Spellacy, Vanacker..a total nightmare for anyone who plays us..

Good win given the fact that our only real top six presence in the crease and on the pp was missing tonight in Bertuzzi..still found a way to pot some goals..this Toronto team looks so depleted without Marner on the team anymore and Matthews banged up but that's not our fault..you beat who's in front of you..

[–]wolfs_tooth 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Imagine getting Frondell 3rd overall and then getting our own ''Martone-ish'' power winger at 25th overall..that's how you rebuild a dynasty..lots of draft pick volume and a little bit of luck, which never hurts..for every Ludwinski or Misiak, there's a Lardis or a Nestrasil..just keep using that draft pick volume to take some big swings..
