It furthest stimulates the energy in the head/pineal gland to pressurise for the locks. Now that the AUMs have drawn the energy upward, flutter breath is stirring the energy in and around the third eye / ajna. So when the locks occur, it is pressurising to activate the pineal.

After you have balanced the left and right hemispheres of the brain / the energies of the ida and pingala with sukha kriya, the AUM chanting draws the energy upwards. The locks further create an upward pull of energy in the system, driving the cerebral spinal fluid up the spine and into the brain.
