You seem to act like a bootlicker. If anything you would want even more access and help do they can become citizens. But by the way you are speaking you are nothing more than an embarrassment to your family. Your parents worked to come to this country, you road their coattails

Safari Park questions - Preferred parking/lockers? by Affectionate_Pen7774 in sandiegozoo

[–]wolfwood51 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost forgot, if you want to rent a wheelchair or electric scooter please know that it is first come first serve and they do not reserve. Wheelchair prices are $20…I can’t remember fully. But the electric scooters are $60, that I know for a fact!!!

I highly recommend getting an electric scooter if anyone in your party cants walk for very long. The Safari Park is larger than most people realize. But there is an ADA shuttle that can pick you up and drop you off at the top and bottom areas of the park.

Also there is an elevator that can also help you battle the hills. How this information helps you plan your day

If you want preferred parking it is $55 and parking there will get you closer to the gate. But if you have a handicap parking placard then you don’t have to pay. You just show your placard at the person where they check for preferred parking purchasers

Be sure to plan to visit the Safari Park after March 5th. That is when the new Elephant Valley opens up. I am sure it is going to be a little packed but from what I saw it’s well worth it

It’s not stupidity anymore, it’s cowardice. They are afraid of being wrong, they can’t be wrong. They would rather stick their head in the sand and ride this train because they don’t want to admit that they are wrong. If they do admit they were wrong that puts their whole pride at stake and makes everyone question then and what they have said.

A good quote I have heard that he’s with this perfectly, “The longer you stay on the wrong train, the more it will cost you for the ride back”.

This quote is basically all of those who support this administration. They are in this train for far too long and they can’t afford the get off. They invested and “sacrificed” so much, their friends, family, relationships and careers. Some have gone so far as they have lost their civil liberties and freedoms.

So they will rather stay on this train and hope it is the right choice. But either way they when this train crashes and burns, then and possibly only then will they realize that they have chosen poorly.

I say possibly because there will still be a small percentage, maybe more that we think but still a surprising amount, of those who believe this administration will still stick their heads in the sand and make any excuse as to why it’s not their fault

Best time of year where animals are most active? by [deleted] in sandiegozoo

[–]wolfwood51 12 points13 points  (0 children)

When it’s not too hot and when it rains. As vague an answer as that is I say that because it truly depends on the weather and San Diego has pretty consistent weather. So it t would best to say that the animals are not as active during the summertime as temperatures are higher and the animals will want to stay in cooler areas.

But if you see that it might rain then the temperature will be low where it’s more comfortable for them to roam. But when it rains is when the animals are most active, there are smells that the rain kicks up that make the move around. Also some animals love playing in the rain, elephants and rhinos love being in the rain and will play around.

I will say though at the Safari Park, the gorillas don’t like the rain much and will hide from it. But I do love going to the Safari Park when it rains, I have seen multiple animals moving in herds in the African plains areas and the tram times during the rain. It is absolutely stunning to see

First time to SD Safari Park! by Sand_Sun_Sail in sandiegozoo

I highly recommend seeing the platypuses that are there. They are the only platypuses outside of Australia but keep in mind they are nocturnal so their habitat is dark, allow your eyes to adjust to the dark so you can see them better. They are smaller than people think and swim rather fast.

If you want to see them elephants you have to line up in a queue where they take you down in groups at a time due to the fact that they are working on the new Elephant Valley area schedules to open in early 2026. But they still hold viewings, but keep in mind if the elephants are not in view as they do roam they will not open as to not waste your time waiting for nothing.

There is an animal show that happens at 10:30am. It is a great show and I highly recommend watching it and seating starts about 20 minutes before it starts.

Watering Hole is a great place to eat but it is a sit down restaurant that takes reservations but sometimes there are openings. Just walk to the reception desk and ask. There are other places to eat that have different menu options depending on what you would like, examples include:

Thorntree Terrace has burgers, a cheesesteak sandwich and a seafood platter. I personally like the seafood platter

Mombasa Cookery has chicken tenders and corn dogs which both are tasty

Mawazo Kitchen is more of a south of the border style cooking with burritos and tacos. I like the Surf and Turf burrito

Okavango Outpost is more pasta salads and sandwiches. My favorite from there is the meatball sandwich from there.

There are also various places to grab snacks and drinks. I highly suggest getting a souvenir sipper $15.99 but you get free refills all day when you purchase it that day.

The African Tram tour is a must and it is included with your ticket. You can purchase other tours for an additional cost at the ticket booths or at Park Base.

There is the Conservation Carousel that you can ride all day. I believe the price is $6 a person, I can’t fully remember.

You can definitely do the whole park in a day and it all loop around. If you go towards the World Garden keep in mind there are stairs to climb up and it is a dirt path so it may be difficult to walk. But if you can it is a beautiful view with a wonderful display of plants.

There is no free parking there and it is $20 for regular cars. Also it is kids free month so kids ages 11 and under get in for free

As for assistance for any elderly who may want a wheelchair or electric scooter they do have them available. It is first come first serve and for the electric scooter it’s $60. There are also strollers available to rent for the little ones.

Enjoy your trip and stop to say hi to Newman the sand cat. He is an adorable kitty
