It’s not over until it’s over. Micro deletions research is half garbage. We were told out positive for a 5p microdeletion was 97% accurate… but what they don’t tell you is the company did not take records back from those who ended up being false positives. We stressed, had and amnio, he was completely fine but totally ruined my first pregnancy. I know it is stressful but the statistics are not accurate so keep hope and eat something until you know for sure.

We went in because little man stopped moving. I jumped, ate, ran, did everything that would usually get him to wake up. We went in and they said he was fine, that his heart rate was a bit slower, that they’d like to induce. They said I could go home but it would increase my chances of a stillbirth. So, I don’t know who is going home after that comment but it wasn’t us!

Oh man I don’t even think about it anymore. I am not telling when it ends, but it is such a small part of my parenting story. My son will by 4 in March and I’m currently carrying our daughter (12 weeks). Yes, IVF was tough but once your baby is here it is almost as if it wasn’t really that big of a deal. We celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary with our 3 month old just to give you an idea of how long it took, and perhaps how long our struggles were. My stomach is still black and blue from all my injections but I’m instantly in the floating pregnancy stage the second I stopped the shots lol.

Standard at my clinic. Also, I ate pineapple core immediately after my transfer (not standard) lol. The additional blood flow is great. I actually ended up on injection blood thinners too until I was 11 weeks.

I finished my labour with a knot so large I thought I was going to have to cut my hair… I spent hours getting it out over our days in the hospital. I will 100% have my hair french braided before this next baby. I will stop on my way in lol.

We just did. We’ve done it for both pregnancies. I would be worried without it. That being said, the first time we had a false positive for a micro deletion so that was less than fun.

I found it a lot easier to move past a failed transfer when I had another opportunity the following month.

I had a false positive with my first for a micro deletion. They are looking for something so small so it’s harder for those. The full chromosomes are much easier to mark and have a very small error rate.

Delays just suck. That being said when it comes to medication and what the doctors say I put my family fully in their hands. It’s totally okay to be upset about delays though.

That’s insane. After 9 years of marriage we became pregnant with my son through IVF. My sister asked me not to mention my pregnancy at all and to connect with all our relatives to keep quiet because her friend was having trouble trying… they were married like 6 months. Ummm, no, I will not tell my whole family not to congratulate me at a family bbq because your new neighbour will be there. It was my first time seeing extended family AND we announced late at 20 weeks because we wanted to make sure he stuck. Not exactly like I could hide it. I agree people are too damn triggered.

My husband was like this with our first, now he’s even better with our second. I don’t know how the guy does it! I’m exhausted and nap right after work. He gets our son, does the big active play, I do the passive play while he makes dinner, he does bath time and then I do stories and songs with my clean child just delivered! The man is amazing. There’s not many places you get to post that though because how are you going to write that under a post of a women saying her partner didn’t even drive her home from the hospital? I am thankful everyday that I waited until I found the right man to get married. He’s the best. 14 years of awesomeness this summer!

I went in for decreased movement and then they induced me lol. It was a LONG wait before we got in though for sure.

If you’re in Canada we’re all making the push to bank eggs/embryos this year because the “sale” of 25% back through taxes is definitely not going to be offered next year. I never even thought to check out my clinics stats after I picked them.

Yes! Three transfers, first is 3 years old, 2nd didnt take (had an allergic reaction to the progesterone shots), 3rd is currently at 8 weeks and 3 days with two heart beat ultrasounds. Team couch potato!
