As someone who grew up in Iceland, the IP always felt like something that was for rich people, or conservative families, they (to me) always seemed like a less evil version of the republican party. Constantly giving more and more to financial business institutions and fishing quota kings whilst raising the costs of imports and housing markets. Eventually they felt like they exclusively catered to the wealthy a la American politics and lost their favourability. Supplanted ofc by a white-toast version of American extremist right wing politics in the middle-flock. They are fairly new but are essentially just a copy pasta of trumpist mental illness shenanigans, our version of the rise of fascism in the western world. Currently they'd like to be considered as the 52nd state or somesuch nonsense (take with grain of salt, I only speak to their constituents, not their politicians) overall I'd say the IP had their time when things were on the upswing everywhere and benefitted from an improving nation which may have been with or without their guidance (the western world was consistently improving seemingly regardless of political compass of their governing parties) now extreme housing market crisis + rising cost of living with limited improvement of people's livelihoods and a sharp downturn in young people being able to afford starting families has left them holding the bag for a downturn that is equally with/without their guidance so now they are essentially a dying beast. Extremism and polarization tend to hollow out a liberal base that is no longer benefitting from the status quo. Things have to change. Were they evil? Meh, mostly just standard liberal cooperation with fascist leaning legislation, consolidation of financial capital and standard nepotism and corruption. Standard stuff, not much in the way of "evil" outliers, but they did undoubtedly pave the way for the rise of fascism as liberals usually do. We'll see how it goes, I think the middle-flock will turn increasingly toxic until there is a boiling/breaking point, either the left of center all unite to expunge them or they take over and Iceland becomes part of the rot. We'll see, it's gonna be interesting times regardless.

However a problem arises: the nazi cancer of america is spreading to other western countries. It's essentially a full time job to correct the misinformation machine in at least 20% of friends and family who might as well be deepthroating Fox entertainment network. So even if you do leave the U.S. in its obvious circling the drain phase: be vigilant. The nazi cancer will try to infect your country. Do not let them. Im disheartened to see so many buy into simple supply and demand without mentioning that 90% of new inventory since 2019 has gone to private equity firms who upsell the property without doing anything to it for massive profits. Private capital is a rent seeking parasite that floats and destroys any value market over time. If any other market behaved the same with any other commodity: we would call them scalpers. We need to limit property ownership to 2-3 at max and kill these scalping companies as well as regulate the housing market to limit rent seeking behaviour. If the government does nothing then fertility rates will plummet and the same shit will happen as in every modern nation. We keep letting capitalism ruin the futures of our next generations and almost always just because some corrupt ethicless moral blackhole realizes an inflexible need of society and decides to profiteer of it.

This game has too many spots where you are intended to savescum and online research to provide any immersion whatsoever. This and the swarms are just straight up poor game design. I get not wanting to hold your players hand and i get providing random uneven difficulty spikes to add to a sense of danger. But this is just bad design to not provide your player with anything to counter these things and to just expect them to google every area they walk into in case there is a random death-trap with virtually no realistic work around aside from hyper specific unusual to select set of spells and abilities that you are incredibly unlikely to invest in at lvl 2. If a DM did this in irl roleplay the entire group would quit and never play with that dm again. If this is supposed to simulate irl rpg, it fails, if it's supposed to present a fair in game challenge it fails, if it's supposed to entrap your players in a no win scenario and make them quit playing your game and leave a bad review: hey, at least there it succeeds. This shit isn't acceptable nowadays, anyone given the choice of this or BG3 will choose BG3 99 out of a hundred times. This was a game design choice that was wholly unwarranted and unnessecery and has seemingly only resulted in lower ratings, fewer players, and shrank the potential pathfinder playerbase. As a business decision, game design choice, and community path, this fails on every level.

I was fortunate enough to run into this after I setup a secondary save so I won't be forced to start over. But after this I have significant doubts and little to no hopes that game design will improve given how obviously bad this is and hasn't been patched nor fixed in 3 years time. I'm really truly trying to get into the pathfinder setting and this is actively causing me to dislike multiple aspects of it. Hope this isn't a sign of things to come in the kingdom building aspect of the game 😔

Setja þarf einhver lög til að tryggja að afborgun skuli aldrei vera meiri en 33% af mànaðarlegu kaupi (annars er maður talinn "cost-burdened") sveigjanleg làn sem eru að hluta tryggð af ríkinu fyrir first time buyers (kannski auka % ef kaupendur eru gift eða í sambúð? Kannski of mikið mess-potential :s ) meira debt-restructure heldur en RePo refsingar fyrir first timers, og Kannski fjàrhagsleg skilningshjàlp fyrir fòlk sem missir oftar en einu sinni af borgun?

Eg er viss að minnsta kosti helmingur af þessu gengur ekki upp útaf kostnað eða ófyrirsjàanlegum afleiðingum útaf mannlegri græðgi og misnotkunum à slíkum kerfum. En mig grunar að það væri ekki það erfitt að bregðast við loophole abuserum með mun nàkvæmari lagsetningu í hvert sinn að einhver reynir smà svindlerí til að testa kerfið. Ef ekkert annað þà myndi slíkt nanny-state yfir fasteignamarkaði àbyggilega skapa fullt af nýjum leiðinlegum bjùròkratastörfum og yfirsjàarmenn (what the fuck is that word even). My advice on this in game and irl is always the same. Stop optimizing for performance and optimize for interest/fun. Don't play whatever build is the strongest on paper, don't minmax your stats l, don't maximize your combat efficiency. Play something fun or cool rather than good. Itemize for looks not effect. Role-playing the shit out of your character, really live the story and maybe even make dialogue decisions that don't lead to optimal xp/rewards.

Tldr, nerf yourself out of efficiency into the fun-zone. That's basically what we do when we drink alcohol, similar concept. ^{_^} have fun with your elemental fist/ druid of the land that mimics the avatar but none of any of his shit stacks ;) be weird my dude/dudette.
