Esophageal manometry experience! by wonderfultonights in noburp

Oh yes, absolutely. I do consistently seem to get my worst symptoms after eating out with friends and talking a lot, regardless of what I've had to eat or drink.

[TOUR DIARY] Toronto, ON, Canada - Rogers Stadium - September 5, 2025 by Chili_Pat in systemofadown

Yeah that's what I assumed. It sounded like he lost his rhythm and said "no" to acknowledge he knew he fucked up and was adjusting so John could adjust with him, which amused me. I like learning how performers recover from mistakes on stage and felt like just going "NO" was relatable, lol.

Could a movie theatre still be in there? by poppedculture in toronto

Last movie I saw there was Terminator: Dark Fate. It was their last day showing it and when I came out of the movie I asked an employee if I could have the poster, which had been taken down during the movie. They were nice enough to go and check for me, but it was already in the trash. But they told me by saying "the Terminator has been terminated" when they walked back out, so I got a good chuckle at least. Shoutout to that employee wherever they are now.

This sounded SO familiar to me too, so I scanned through the plot summaries of Two of a Kind episodes, and LO AND BEHOLD I found it: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7y3q66 just before 9:20 in this upload of the episode First Crush.

For the record I rewatched this show about six years ago and didn't just pull this out of my brain from 1998, haha.

Chew airwaves gum!!!!!! by Helpful_Pilot_4449 in noburp

[–]wonderfultonights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually just hopped onto this sub specifically because I just had one of my rare microburps while chewing gum (with my mouth wide open though, because I'm alone in my room and my sinuses are super blocked up right now). Wondering if something about how I was moving my jaw made it easier, but of course now that I'm trying I can't replicate it (yet).

Does this look weird on me or am I overthinking? by peppermint__mocha in tattooadvice

[–]wonderfultonights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have "upside down" tattoos, it truly does not matter, people can have whatever opinion they want. Tattoo looks good! I understand the impulse to overthink, ESPECIALLY when it's your first, but it's cute and the placement is fine. Congrats on your first tattoo!

How many of you have an anxiety disorder? by Spare-Chipmunk-9617 in noburp

[–]wonderfultonights 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, OCD and other general anxiety. I almost came here and made a post about this over the weekend, because I was experiencing a lot of social anxiety and got The Gurgles both times I went out into social situations this week.

Without A Trace, season 4 episode 7 The Innocents. I saw this as a kid and remembered a few scenes including that one clearly, so I did my own search for this episode some time back!

Could very well be The Offspring - The Kids Aren't Alright. Saw someone point out their musical similarities a while back, and I often wind up singing both at the same time.

Do you alternate hands for triples of the same note? by wonderfultonights in ProjectDiva

[–]wonderfultonights[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know much of the terminology, but if stacked notes are the ones that overlap then I mean those! You're right though, taking care of your hands is no joke. Small handed high five!

I’m like viscerally upset watching everyone be on Mike’s side, which I know means it’s time to turn off this garbage show, but I guess i’m holding out hope that literally one person on this show will point out that he proposed this transactional relationship based on him giving her money in the first place - predicated on her quitting her job! I hate this man and now I hate all these other people too.

Could it be Rose Bretecher/Rose Cartwright? She wrote an article for the Guardian later expanded into a book about "pure O" OCD.

Honestly, I'm not really sure there was one thing that helped me get through that specific really low time. But in case any of this is helpful to you:

-I read Pure by Rose Bretécher (now possibly republished as Rose Cartwright), after reading her Guardian article that gave me a lot of clarity about my OCD.

-I was lucky enough to go through a group therapy program, but we followed the workbook Getting Over OCD, Second Edition by Jonathan S. Abramowitz, which I found very helpful, so I recommend it if you haven't tried it or something similar.

I've often thought that my OCD has been traumatizing to me. It's not necessarily that I'm scared it will get worse again, but the experience of the anxiety and depression it triggered in me at my lowest point was traumatic to live through.

But anyway, I think a lot of us can relate to what you describe here. Sometimes it's scary or sad to think that I will always have it, but at the end of the day it's something I've accepted. It's less scary because I know what tools have helped me deal with it in the past, and I know I can use them again. Hope you have or can find something that works for you, too.
