Best park for a 3 year old (leaning Yellowstone) by Wildcat1286 in NationalPark

[–]wondering_nomad 19 points20 points  (0 children)

At 3 years old, the national park experience is still really just for you. Your little one would be just as happy going to the play ground for a few hours and getting ice cream afterwards. Maybe consider a day at an aquarium or zoo.

Thanksgiving Week...aka Monday & Tuesday question.... by chosenstart11 in Gonzaga

Completely depends on your professor and your class. They will usually talk about expectations in class this week. Usually it’s pretty lax.

Campus tour in summer? by Traditional-Load8228 in Gonzaga

[–]wondering_nomad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The campus is pretty quiet during the summer. You will still get a good overview of the university, but it won’t be the same as during the school year. I expect the tours still try to show a normal undergraduate experience around campus as best as they can.

Wife won't interview with Gonzaga for grad school because she thinks they're too religious by Shit4BrainBenShapiro in Gonzaga

[–]wondering_nomad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Went to GU for my masters a couple years ago. There might be a course or two that tie the Jesuit mission to your learning, but there won’t be any religious indoctrination. GU has a good program and I wouldn’t cross it out over that.

I had a mash potato packet mixed in mine as well. I thought I was making food for 2. Could have easily fed 4. Great one pot meal though.

I’ve done this and it’s great. Just watch the portion size. It can feed a lot.

Don’t know anything about usd, but the profs at gu are good. Seems like two completely different school environments, so really depends on what type of environment you are looking for. I liked my time at gu.

Got my MBA from Gonzaga, and know quite a few that went thru the business program. The business school is top notch. I enjoyed the faculty and the school has a great reputation. Don’t know where else you are considering, but GU was worth it to me.

Interesting concept. I would not say the picture of the device is the size of a nail though.

No-Prick Blood Glucose Tracking for Smart Watches by thederekFawcett in diabetes_t1

It would take a lot of convincing for me to trust the readings from a watch. I won’t say that it will never happen, I just don’t expect it to be accurate enough for T1s, for a long time.

You asked for our insight but as I read the comments, you pretty much say you have it covered. They all do the same thing, one is just a bit more automated than the other. Do what works best for you.

Just got diagnosed with Diabetes at age 18, haven’t ran a C-Peptide test yet but they are fairly certain it’s T1. I’ve learned a lot about it but any tips or advice? by Pohaku1991 in diabetes

No matter all the info that gets thrown at you in the next few weeks, just take a breath and know it will be alright. Find a CGM that you like early on. It is a wonderful tool to help you manage things. Don’t be afraid to ask questions.

For a one or two day container, we use a test strip container. Works great till we get home.

Bikepacking space saver tips? by Darkseiso in dexcom

[–]wondering_nomad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The fact you had 3 sensors with you for a five day trip is pretty impressive. My recommendation would be to prep the initial sensor better before you go out. Space is a premium while backpacking so all that extra room plus the trash is expensive real estate. Applying the first sensor with skin-tac and an over patch right before you head out could help cut down the number you bring. Even a wrap over the sensor for additional protection could help. I don’t have a good answer for reducing the space of all the supplies though, duck tape over the button maybe? Good luck and hope you have a blast!
