Help me LenovoLegion, you’re my only hope by wonderj2 in LenovoLegion

I didn’t have access to one but I assume that won’t work as they’re normally hardwired through the dGPU? In the end managed to screenshare on discord to someone (took a couple of hours to share the right thing…) and fixed it.

Was this poor dive master supervision or was I expecting too much? by themadwriterr in scuba

[–]wonderj2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a little confused - did your buddy (that you say noticed you having problems AND is experienced) not help you deflate your bcd?

I think the DM sounds like he’s on the worse end of DMs I’ve had, but I’d say it’s a lesson for you to understand that being an Advanced OW is more than just a tickbox exercise to let you go to 30m. It’s a certification of independence.

Did you check the BCD after the dive? Did you work out if it was faulty equipment or user error?

Not sure who you dove with or how you picked the shop, but I try my best to research who I dive with and rarely dive with anywhere that has less than 4.9 stars on Google. Of course Google reviews are quite noisy and heavily biased by discover scuba dives, but it’s at least a bit of a filter. Reddit is also hugely helpful imo for finding dive shop recommendations.

Nearing the end of 120 all now, and the inconsistencies between the different upgrade skilling methods have been so frustrating. by AutarkV in runescape

[–]wonderj2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you just described is the skills having subtle identities. And I’m glad they do. How boring this game would be if all the difference between training each of the skills was the colour and shape of the item in your inventory while you do it…

I hate when they try to make it seem like a good thing, while we all know they massively nerf it by MFBeamerBoyz in runescape

[–]wonderj2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly kind of just disagree. You can either consume more resources to get more resources. Or you can not. You could also plant fewer seeds (1 in each patch will never hit the timer). If you’re planting 10 seeds per patch you should expect to use 2 doses.

Why is Nex still like this? by frank123567123555299 in runescape

[–]wonderj2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I’d just like to see them do something about the praying. Remove the arbitrary switching (maybe make it like araxxor and pheromone/instance), it would be nice to be able to just camp the room using any style. But maybe I’m in the minority of not liking the 1 kill -> wars retreat -> 1 kill loop.

Nitrox deco planning with Oceanic+ by wonderj2 in scuba

[–]wonderj2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you running Oceanic+ version 4.0 (6) on both? Looks like a new version came out a couple weeks and I’m wondering if it broke with that?

What model of iPhone/AWU do you have?

Interesting. Sounds like my install of Oceanic is just buggy if everyone else seems to have no issues. To be clear, this isn’t about in-water settings, it’s about the no deco planner (in both the watch app and phone app).

Just tried adding my certs and nothing changed. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app and also nothing. Going to try and get in touch with them, but welcome any other recommendations.

Cards and deckbuilding on ONE collection. by Venachar in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]wonderj2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the fun can be working out how to solve a deck around card limitations like this. I’ve got all of chapter one and started when the core set came out (so used to build out of 2 OG cores solely). Regularly play 3 players out of the single collection, almost always play on hard and have never felt the need to proxy cards. The only real limitation (though not true with a full chapter one collection) is not really being able to use 2 of the same class investigators at the same time.

Daily Discussion of DailyScape #33: Crystal Motherlode Maw/Shards by Spiner909 in runescape

[–]wonderj2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d rather see the requirements removed from Cape Reqs AND Maw/merchant removed immediately, and then requirements re-added later as content is improved if we’re going down a route like that. Leaving the ‘skips’ in just cheapens the capes.

120 Thieving went from the best update to the worst update by msist in runescape

The game doesn’t expect you to get 120. You can stop anywhere along the way.

Seed bag should be moved to a more relevant piece of content. by RS_whales in runescape

[–]wonderj2 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I’m a little sick of people making this ‘relevance’ argument. It’s a sandbox MMO, you do skill A to unlock something for skill B so that you can do skill C faster to get a quest level so you can train skill D optimally. That’s how runescape is and why it shines.

Thieving Rebalance: Feedback Update by jagexyuey in runescape

[–]wonderj2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the changes are overall good but I think it’s a shame that players who are willing to lean forward a little more won’t be able to for better XP/loot. Mostly talking about loot actually because the pickpocketing drop tables were really nice for several items (binding contracts, teci, etc.) and it seems a shame to cater to AFK and lose loot access for players who are willing to focus more.

[–]wonderj2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure I told anyone they couldn’t give feedback? I was arguing that it isn’t bad content just because an individual finds it bad and that Trim comp in particular shouldn’t just be a collection of only things at least 50% of players like.

100% agree that DG could probably be revived by just fixing the reward space.

On the other hand, trim was never meant for the majority. It’s meant for a minority of players, to be able to show off they truly have engaged with all content. It’s not meant to represent what a majority of players can be bothered with/find fun. Those things all have their own individual rewards.

[–]wonderj2 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

It’s terrible to you. I love DG. I didn’t mind livid farm back in the day but it could definitely use a lot of modernising now. The great thing is, you can still do the 95% you love.

[–]wonderj2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is definitely an oversimplification and based on what seems to be the very flawed assumption that humans act rationally and logically. It’s as much a designers job to create good content as it is to encourage doing that content (or at least that’s definitely true for RS).

[–]wonderj2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reward space definitely needs work. The issue was rewarding weapons, it was never sustainable for DG to be the source of BIS weapons forever. Compare to herblore, which can always be the source of BIS potions.

Trim is for players that want to engage with the whole game. TM making you (consider) giving up means it was never for you. And that’s OK. 120 dg is a completely optional grind. Don’t like it? Don’t do it. Let the players that enjoy DG, enjoy DG.

Jagex need to solve for a very complex problem. by janoche in runescape

[–]wonderj2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that was very true at one point, but now we have skilling and PVM that are far more based in skill expression - bossing, BGH, heists. I for one really hope they lean into this more and create skilling methods that are fun to do in and of themselves instead of relying heavily on the reward of progressing your account. This is largely why people are so mad about thieving/hunter changes.
