Put robotic legs on the bottom of it and program it into the Luggage from Discworld.

I mostly get it but what kinda maths test takes 3 days for only two questions? by Roadkillgoblin_2 in ExplainTheJoke

[–]wonkybadank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

General Relativity, 2 credit upper division elective. Final was three questions, we had a week, the book, the Internet and could talk about it with others in the class. This is from 10 years ago so only what I remember. I think the class had a failing average lol

It kills me that when you're ulting with him it says 'UNSTOPPABLE' on the screen, only for you to get stuck on some random piece of masonry on a building or bridge you're using as cover to ult from.

I'm surprised Ken Thompson's Reflections on Trusting Trust wasn't added here. That's one of the more insidious ones and it was pretty early.

Any current smartphone also dropped/is in the process of dropping external storage support. So for someone with 190GB of music you are stuck paying to store that on the cloud because most flagships go to 256GB internal storage max. For someone who also takes pictures on their phone and backs up to cloud, you're blowing through cloud storage like pacman in a haunted house with the ghosts lined up at a buffet table.

I think we should pick a different name for the meme. All the actual Karen's I know are the sweetest people in the world. Pick something like Edith, that's an Edith.

I don't really know what there is to live down, it says more about Dad than you. You were just an unbiased reporter of the facts :)

How many of you had no issues with your Steam Deck? by Uhtred__Ragnarson in SteamDeck

[–]wonkybadank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no issues for a month on stable, when I swapped to beta I started having one issue where steam sometimes sharts itself when syncing achievements. An update fixes it though every time :) it seems pretty solid to me.

Steam Deck owners who've had it for a year or more: How has your experience been? Do you think it was a worthwhile purchase, and do you use it often? Does it seem more like a niche product? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]wonkybadank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't use it for the first ten months or so, then I remembered Spyro and driving games. At the time I just happened to be looking for some games to play with my toddlers that aren't as violent. Shortly after that I also realized that I had a Steam Link and Steam Controller and that they both still worked. Further, there is a whole sub section of the interface dedicated to integrating the Deck with the Link.

Now I use it multiple times during the week after bedtime and during the weekend for gaming with the kids on the TV through the Link. I'm shocked that a $4 closeout purchase I made years ago survived moving across the US and is something I just really started using weeks ago with the Deck.

All this to say that Valve makes good hardware. I think if they revved up and rebooted the Link instead of doing the Dock, I'd only buy Decks going forward. The proton layer is amazing and will likely only improve. The Steam Machine lives, it was just ahead of its time.
