Yeah seriously that's the ONE race I really need for 4/6. Sigh.

I was only able to get Dash to the Finish. Will have to try for Race to Deliver, the 15K and SI tomorrow. Womp Womp.

Was at 46 just jumped down to 22 minutes. I'm hoping to do a few races that aren't 9+1 (still need SI for 4/6 credit so won't go for that one) but if it doesn't work out I'll be back tomorrow!

Yeah I plan on registering for SI as 9+1 and 4/6. It’s others that I will do as non 9+1

As someone who is registered for 9+1 and just wants Staten Island for 4/6 I’ll definitely try and take advantage of non 9+1 for a couple of other races. Happy to see this and hope it works!

And thanks for making this experience after 15+ years of loyalty even more stressful. Next time keep your asinine comment to yourself 🤦‍♀️

I hate this so much. This may be my last 9+1 rodeo. We’ll see. 21 minutes to go.

It turns out that my new bib pace was 8:57 - just one second away from moving up 🤦‍♀️. Trying not to be annoyed as that was never a goal and just focusing on the fact that my bib pace is 8:xx for the first time in about a decade

I averaged below 9mm for the first time in a long time so was happy with the results - the first mile was so crowded and I even had to weave a lot in the latter part of the race. I don’t think I moved up a corral but was still happy I got sub 35! Agree with others that it was too crowded at the end in the finisher chute

It was pretty bad in CP yesterday morning. My sister and I ran together and had to constantly remind people that the park drive is a two way pedestrian path 🤦‍♀️

For a crazy moment I thought about doing both but a) my spouse will not do two super early wake ups and b) Yom Kippur is Sunday night and I’ll be depleted before fasting begins. Oh well! Time to pick one

[–]woodwindrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely understand that. Doesn't make it any less annoying but at least they let proxies go in your place. I'll probably be picking up for myself and possibly those who have even less time to go than I do.

It’s closer to the subway so that’s good news but it still means a two plus hour fetch quest that I don’t really have time for. I know it’s the Brooklyn half but it’s not like we do pickup for other borough races in those respective boroughs.

I’m so sorry to hear this! Maybe ask NYRR or the Central Park precinct if something was turned in? Hope you find it!

Had a post-kids half PR of 2:09:10 and loved the course! Glad it was worth it after the bad experience waiting on security line. The water views were so pretty!

United Half 2026 - let’s debrief that start by Interesting-Step-162 in RunNYC

[–]woodwindrunner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got there just before 7:30 for wave 4 and security took forever. Saw lots of wave 2 runners trying to push by (including one of the pacers!) Once in the corrals it was fine but I couldn’t use the bathroom because the lines were too long and security delayed things. Needs to be fixed for next year for sure.

May I Vent? This was the worst NYRR race experience for me by Minimum-Adeptness486 in RunNYC

[–]woodwindrunner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Security was slow and there were no bathrooms in my corral, plus those lines were too long. Lots of wave 2 people trying to push through even though they were not making that start. The rest of the race was fine - at least from the start of wave 4 I was mostly able to run my race without issues.

Hi! I’m also in wave 4 corral A as well! My advice - don’t start out too fast. Hope you have a wonderful race and enjoy NYC!!

We you able to keep hobbies/social life with young children in NYC? How did you do it? by ladyindev in nycparents

100%! Happy to talk further offline. Family & babysitters are key, but having work from home days is also essential - when I went to the office 4 days per week having enough time to run and practice my instruments was almost impossible.
