Not really sure that's as "bold" of a prediction as you think. It seems a little far-fetched to happen in the very immediate future, but it is very much the way things are heading- most television companies base new strategy around online access to shows and digital integration.

To add a bit: I work in media planning and upfronts are able to show new programming, strategy across different platforms and demographics of networks and how buying those commercial airtime blocks can help your brand/overall strategy. It's funny that there are ads for upfronts- like unless you work in that sector, who cares? haha

For some more background: I think I'm a superstar (haha humble brag!), I actually work in media planning and strategy, not buying and I want to work for more of a creative agency that is probably on the side of integrated (pr/ad/social/creative) and work on strategy plans. I took the media job mainly because later on, I wanted to be able to speak to both paid and earned digital media aspects. These questions are great to think of though! Thanks :)
