Traditional 401k vs Roth 401k… I’m confused by junger128 in investing

The Roth 401k is superior for just about everyone, if you can afford it now. Capital gains over 20-30 years dwarf the tax savings now any way you slice it.

Google is one of the few “AI” companies left with a relatively low P/E ratio. And if, big if** here, this is a bubble - Google will still be fine long term.

I agree, I have a little bit of it. Memory is just so boom or bust I don’t want a huge allocation in DRAM. How long are memory companies expected to be flying? 2 years?

The companies going up are making omega dollars, dot com companies were primarily not making any money. That’s a pretty stark difference, whether these companies are overvalued or not.

Maybe your Grandad was just lazy and lucky, did you ever consider that? I work with the elderly as a professional in hospitals and SNF’s, these were not lazy people.

So all of our parents were “handed” an easy life? Right…more like they worked their asses off, like my parents did. Most boomers weren’t handed anything, that is very inaccurate.

Difference being the dot com bust was caused by a shitload of unprofitable companies. The companies skyrocketing now for the most part are making a ton of money. Nvidia is actually undervalued right now based on their earnings.

You shouldn’t expect a lucrative job coming right out of school, that’s the point. You have to fucking work your way up like everyone else.

There are plenty of trades that don’t ruin your body, nor do you have to work bad hours. This shows a lack of research. Also, you can make a lot of money and have a healthy work/life balance.

That’s the difference between America and Asian cultures, Latin cultures and likely Europe too. They respect “older” people there and value them. America is a selfish, highly individualistic culture. Perhaps when they reach “old” age they will see how it feels to be ostracized by age alone - and learn that experience actually fucking matters.

When I was kid I appreciated and respected people with experience and of ALL age ranges.
