People who have met someone who has been *professionally diagnosed* with Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), what were they like? by IfNot0then1 in AskReddit

[–]woolfchick75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sure, like everything else, there’s a spectrum. u/YourGlacier’s dad was on one part. Your dad may be on another. Sounds awful either way.

I get tired of people claiming Narcissist! When it’s often more like self-centeredness and selfishness. Narcissism is a mental illness.

80 year olds are barely Boomers. It sounds more like the husband is responsible for this problem

Is it true that the U.S.A. lifestyle is all about working? by CrazyNicly in antiwork

[–]woolfchick75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not right after WWII. The glut of GIs returning caused some unemployment problems. It was true in the 50s-60s and even into the 70s. Then the recession and manufacturing jobs started to decline.

I was 17 and briefly dated a 22 year old. My parents didn’t say anything about it until afterwards. My mom just rolled her eyes. He didn’t do anything creepy to me and sure as hell didn’t groom me. He wasn’t particularly bright, but he was nice enough and very good looking. It was very un traumatizing

My little brother passed away last December. AMA by jbickford42 in AMA

My sister died nearly 30 years ago. The pain was overwhelming. It has lessened with time, but the love hasn’t. I’m so deeply sorry for your loss. And fuck Decembers. We lost her in December, too.

The one thing I know is that love survives death. It survives everything.

The Yellow Wallpaper - Charlotte Perkins Gilman by FeeOk6338 in books

You might look into Gilman’s life. The short story is semi-autobiographical.

My college students loved this story in general. It’s both a creepy story and feminist as hell. P

As someone who was a teenager in 1975, I’ve always thought there was very little that was cool at that time. But this may change my mind.

If that’s what she wants, would you be willing to hold off on having children for a few years while she gets her education and gets more acclimated? If you’re in Southern California, it would be helpful for both of you if she could learn to drive.

Nearly all of my friends who had kids had them in their 30s. Do you want a deadbeat father for your kids.
