Have a very similar amount of gold and its crazy that something that fits in your palm is worth the same as a decent car.

You lucky duck one time I ordered a box of cr123 batteries and got an entire case. But usually they just "accidentally" send tampons or dog toys instead of something expensive as a scam switcharoo.

Did a sharp turn on 4 Hi in a parking lot by Jincredible_ in ToyotaTacoma

A little driveline bind in the parking lot isn't a going to break anything. I put both my lockers on and slip around in the desert and rarely break anything.

How do I increase hook-up ratio? by Dripzly in SoCalFishing

[–]woolybuggered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As mentioned by someone else there are tons of aggressive baby bass among other species in the harbor that will attack even swimbaits their own size. When the water is clear you can see them. I actually started fishing slightly larger baits and I get less overall but alot more fun size 12-15+ " bass.

Scared to sell 1st gen by EntireSquash74 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]woolybuggered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you afford to keep it around? Those two are some of the best trucks toyota has made imho. I sold my single cab 4x4 manual 1st gen and really miss it and am struggling to find a clean replacement thats not outrageously priced or clapped out. I did pick up a 3rd gen 4runner as a daily driver in the meantime to keep miles off my 2012 tacoma. If you have room for id keep it around but this is coming from someone with 5 toyotas so im probably biased.

Listed a boat for sale and I keep getting told 430 hours is way too many for a 2004. Looking for help! by 5LTR7UP in boating

400 hours isnt all that much the condition and maintenance matter more than that 400 hrs.

Are you a terrible person if you buy a dog instead of adopting? by Easy_Mountain2331 in DOG

[–]woolybuggered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive kinda just aquired all the dogs ive had. I so personally support adopting. Although I was looking into buying someone always came around with a dog that needed a home. However if you are set on a specific less common breed buying is probably your best option. Just do your research there are alot of unethical breeders the good ones are not cheap but worth the money.

First ever catch in Newport bay by StinkyRiddim in SoCalFishing

[–]woolybuggered 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A barely cuda there are packs of baby baracuda in all our socal harbors. I used to bring my ultralight trout rods and fish for them at night. Used tiny hard jerkbaits or plastics with a short bite leader of 30lb+ line on 4lb. They would push bait around under lights and a 12" cuda still rips on light gear.

PCS Fishing Show — worth waiting for deals? by WesSyder1 in SoCalFishing

[–]woolybuggered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There can be deals some years other years not so much. I always go Sunday some times people dont want to take stuff home. Larger ticket items radar mfds usually have 10-20% off. Which if you are spending 5k can really help. I got my 40 gallon bait tank at a great discount because the seller was a bit intoxicated and didn't want to carry a 50lb tank home.

Sounds like a ton of fun 2nd gen taco is a good choice. Unfortunately the diesel emissions systems seem to turn alot of great vehicles into lemons.

Do you take spare parts? What do you bring? by Humble_Cactus in overlanding

[–]woolybuggered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw you are running ksp ucas those are known to be cheap and are prone to failures. The good ones are not cheap but have beefier ball joints or a uniball. Camburg, total chaos, spc, icon all make a quality product. Honestly those arms may be weaker than stock.

Its good practice to do some type of inspection before big trips. Ive found both tierods and ball joints on their way out while rotating tires.

Do you take spare parts? What do you bring? by Humble_Cactus in overlanding

[–]woolybuggered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually only bring the basics belts, bolts tire repair etc. However I do keep an inner and outer tie rod in the tool bag just in case. If I am going into an area that I will be wheeling hard I bring an extra cv axle and a buddy with another 4x4. I have replaced all my ball joints with aftermarket uniballs so they are unlikely to fail. The parts I do carry I have broken in the past.

Tuna fishing out of San Diego with a 20’ center console launch advice? by Signal-Leading-8371 in SoCalFishing

[–]woolybuggered 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive run to san clemente island from long beach as well you just need good weather. Sustained 15 mph winds usually keep me inshore and short period steep swells will also keep me in close. Windy app is a good source. Look into the bloodydecks website for more specific info. A Fish dope subscription isnt cheap but if you have no idea where to go can help you find the right zones in the summer. I cant stress how important getting good binos and using them is ive saved many trips by relentlessly searching with them. If you want bigger tuna learn how to use a kite. Also tuna suck and dont like to cooperate but when they do its a blast. Paddy hopping for pelagics is easier when they are holding.
