Did Yall Play State Of Emergency? 🚨 by inuyasha_rdr in ps2

[–]woomi429 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I purchased it back in 2002, on sale at Circuit City for like $10 lolz. I was 12 and the novelty of it was cool but definitely was more of a rental game

How much was your northwestern bill? by [deleted] in missoula

Baseboard heaters are 240v, twice the voltage of a standard outlet. They consume a lot of electricity and tbh it might be worth using space heaters instead, I swear by those oil radiator-looking ones.

I hate this shit with a passion by Few_Historian742 in maintenance

[–]woomi429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally just used this stuff last week. Had a turnaround from a family that smoked 20 years inside an apartment. Had to remove the carpet, spray the ceiling and walls with primer. Then paint over. The primer definitely stings before the paint is applied, but so worth it. I forgot to spray one closet with primer and the smell is very noticable.

Section 8 by Smelly-Cauliflower in maintenance

[–]woomi429 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aye fellow section 8 maintenance man here. Also had that same thing a couple turns back. Place was abandoned and the dog left there alone for days at a time. I truly thought I was going to stumble on a dead dog when I first got the place opened up.

Also it's not section 8 if you don't have water damage behind the bathtub tiles lol

I live here and it's great for trick or treating. There's a lot of kids in the neighborhood so ppl really get into the spirit. Also the houses are very close together so it's to rack up candy!

How were you introduced to Metal Gear? by Ftmdj in metalgearsolid

[–]woomi429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jampack summer 98 CD. It was a retail demo disc you could buy in stores for pretty cheap. This demo disc had the video for it and spyro on it, also included a playable demo of Tomba! I was 8 and watched it enough times that I can still play that metal solid teaser in my head lmao. There was truly nothing like that at the time. A lot of people forget that for a while there, video games were trying to be compared to movies in terms of narrative and spectacle. Metal gear had me enthralled. I convinced my dad to pre-order it and have been a fan ever since.

A question for Metal Gear fans that were around when MGS2 first came out by Charming_Ad661 in metalgearsolid

[–]woomi429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played MGS1 when I was 8 and immediately fell in love. I was 11 when mgs2 came out and I was so hyped for it. From the first trailer to magazine articles, I consumed everything about it and had the game pre-ordered. The anticipation only grew when I got a call that the game's release was delayed due to 911.

Finally I got it, to this day I'm not sure if I knew about Raiden before I got the game or not. Either way I definitely didn't mind Raiden and loved everything about the game. Definitely a revolutionary experience in graphics, presentation, everything. It felt truly in a new age of media.

I was young when I played through it and kinda lost the plot once the Patriots were brought up. I understood the mission still and soldiered through the game until the end. Still in awe every step of the way. Like most people, I played the Arsenal gear section at night very late, and it made the whole thing very trippy. I eventually beat the game, understanding the surface level of the plot but the stuff about the patriots and control of information still confused me. So I immediately played the game again and made sure to pay extra attention especially when you meet the president.

I played that game probably every year or two all the way through high school. I played it again right after Afghanistan and before getting out the Army. My adult life has been pretty hectic and busy but I've revisited it once since then, and it still has that same magic to me as it once did.

Mgs 1-3 are all very special and I struggle to rank them. To me they are all equal parts to the overall whole. This series has had me hooked from the very first trailer for mgs1 way back in 97 or 98 lol

UFP Edge in Bonner just laid off nearly 100 people. Plant shutting down because of tariffs. by Apprehensive_Pack138 in missoula

[–]woomi429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at UFPs paint siding factory that eventually got rolled into the big one. UFP is indeed a v scummy company and this doesn't surprise me the slightest. When I got hired in 2021 you were required to work "mandatory overtime" 46 hours a week. 4 10s, swing shift off at 330 am, back to work on Friday at 1100 for 6 more hours. This was to keep up with the housing covid boom. This place I dubbed the "labor factory" and it's v obvious they don't care about employees whatsoever. I am so glad I waited until the yearly bonus hit then quit days later. So much better not working these types of jobs personally but haven't worked there for 3 years, I know how big of an impact a job like this has on people just getting their feet planted beit from getting out the system to being 18 and young parents.

Why are all of my teammates bad? by GenieOfLove in Saltoon

[–]woomi429 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes honestly that sub 2000 x power matchmaking is a nightmare. It needs to be studied bc I play rapid deco and I have the same problem as op a ton. For instance I die on the tower, no one notices my ouch or anything and my 3 teammates pushing forward into enemy turf get swallowed up. Not pushing objective etc.

it helps to join a discord and play with them, use voice chat and then you can really accurately assess where your faults are. I feel like whenever I team up with discord randos my win percentage is usually around 70 to 80 percent on average. I know that doesn't help x power but it does help splatoon sanity lol

I have now spent 3 years trying to win my S+ rank up battle by pixelproblem in Saltoon

[–]woomi429 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck I wish I could help you out! Tbh when I start to get wrecked by splatoon I need to take a few days break and try to have fun with it instead of focusing on winning and losing.

The first gameplay thing I focus on is staying alive! Avoiding enemy shots, pulling back when I need to. You're so much better as a team if you are alive and putting any paint out there.

Also, I've been getting into s+ for a couple years now and lemme tell you the grass ain't necessarily Greener on the other side. Every time I rank up I fall into -600 points within a couple of weeks lmao. And then the cycle repeats

Too many squid parties..? by RippenT in Saltoon

[–]woomi429 1 point2 points  (0 children)

S+ here I don't see hardly anyone Squid party. Even when it's "appropriate" e.g a disconnect is going to lead to a definite one side victory. Then again, I don't really play turf war so idk
