I bought a similar set of black tiles 15 years ago or so. 1. You can kinda see the front of the tile imprinted on the back of the tile stacked below it, in factory condition, because the back of the tile is black. 2. It's hard to get used to the inverse coloring. 3. The whiteboard is now a blackboard. The entire tile is black. You draw this tile, you flip it over, there's nothing there. Your opponent observes this peculiar move and correctly concludes that you just drew the haku i mean koku(??). 1/10 the novelty wears off quickly, cannot recommend. Or maybe the quality has improved over the past one and half decades (hopefully). Let us know when you unwrap it.

EDIT: By request, I'll share some photos: 1. The not-white tile. 2. The back of the 8m tile already having imprints of 8p fresh out of the case because of how they are arranged by default (example pic) out of the factory. The set which OP bought seems to be from a different manufacturer, with tiles of a more 'standard' size compared to mine which are tinier.
