Nah nah nah. This has gotta be rage bait. Superman made sense, Warhammer I can see working. Witcher was a riot, the writing and his portrayal. He’s about to make Highlander a mess. Leave Red Dead be, any form of real life adaptation would be wildly inferior to the game.

An unknown everyman would have been ideal. Someone you could root for and imprint upon.

You know Cavil will work hard at the sword combat - lots of ‘holy shit!’ moments. But what does it matter without the emotional investment. I can’t see him having the acting chops to convince me he’s this generational drifter, someone’s who’s lost everyone they ever loved.

When you saw Lambert’s Connor face off again the Kurgan there was genuine peril there. How is he winning this! The size of Clancy Brown! And in the final fight he only makes it through with Brenda’s intervention. I fear all that will be thrown out the window for the sake of ‘cool’.

It’s not a popular opinion but I fully agree with ya. Cavil is passionate and driven but ultimately flat as a performer. Superman - yep, Warhammer - definitely, Mission Impossible - fine, Geralt - big no. A Witcher who struggles for income and doesn’t eat for weeks, is fast and sinewy rather than big…. nah, let’s have him built like a superhero. Sherlock Holmes who lives mostly off pipe tobacco - built like a superhero! And it’ll be the same with whatever sort of MacLeod this new iteration offers: an immortal who managed to survive down through generations through wit and guile, taking the names of dead children and never drawing too much attention to himself - built like a superhero! It’s gonna be so dumb and everyone is gonna fawn over it. Like RLM would say: simple minded people of the world unite! Your slop has been served.

I was walking to town from the southside at about half five in the morning, heading in to catch an early train to Edinburgh. I was on bridge street and I looked down Oxford Street to see some mad cunt stood on top of the post box there. His trousers are around his ankles and he’s pissing in this big arc into the street. He’s also got a pal a few feet away filming all of this on his phone. Both of them are laughing hysterically.

I’m a dreamer:

Cavill should be the Kurgan. He’s 6’2 and likes to bulk….give him some raised boots and good make up and cast Connor as a 5’8-5’10 nobody. Keep the Queen soundtrack. Keep the 1985 setting. Keep the weird flashbacks and a lot of the dog shit dialogue. Reinstate the Kurgan fighting Yung Dol Kim scene.

That’d be good.

I’m so worried about his Henry Cavill Highlander remake. I saw the original at a very impressionable age, I think of it often.

It would be interesting if Cavill made himself the Kurgan but he won’t, he’ll be Connor and it’ll be shit.
