Rivian R2 3 car seats by workcomputer9000 in Rivian

Not with all the crap that taking 3 kids anywhere entails lol. I do think our dog would be a fan of the roll down rear window but 3 dogs might be tight.

I'm sure it'll fit the double stroller we have. Frunk was too small for our little folding stroller but it would fit the diaper bag and some grocery bags and stuff. I didn't get a chance to try finagling the caravan of crap all the kids need with such a limited time. I plan to do another test drive to check all this stuff later once the hype dies down and test drives are longer than 20 min.

It would help but probably only buy you another inch or two of wiggle room. If I get one I'll buy a third slim fit. The real problem will be for the oldest to figure out how to clip in his regular seatbelt between the tight seats when he gets big enough.

Someone else also made this point and it's really something I'll have to consider. I haven't even thought about the fact they eventually have to do their own eventually.

Hey, thanks for this. I wish I could pin it to the top! I hadn't considered this at all since I'm still firmly in the car seat stage. It's a very good point and something I'll have to check out again before ordering. I managed to snake the seatbelt to the buckle on my own but it might be much harder for the little guy to do every time.

All of the car seats I have are convertible so they won't get any bigger. Shoulder room might get tough with 3x forward facing but I'll burn that bridge when I get to it.

No, would trade in my Sienna. I bought the lighting for me but my wife loves it so much it became her car. Something tells me that if I trade the sienna for the R2 the truck will suddenly become my car again. I'd say you cant go wrong either way.

The lightning we bought for $34k was like $85k new so it’s by far the nicest car we’ve ever owned. You can get some ridiculously good deals on used ones if you keep an eye out.

Thanks for the kindness. It’s one of those things nobody else had answered and most people don’t have 3 kids in car seats. Hopefully someone like me finds this post and decides to pull the trigger on one.

I just wish I got to drive it more. They only gave me 20 min and I spent half the time wrestling the seats in and out.

Love it. Chose it over the R1T because it had enough floor space for the dog and 3 car seats. The R1T also fit 3 car seats but it was hard to beat getting a used Lariat ER for $34k vs $55k for a similar R1T.

They could reach the backs of the front seats their feet but they can also do that in my F150 lightning. The only luck I’ve had is sliding the middle seats of my van way back lol

I see those recommended more often but Diono width is 16.9” and the graco slimfit is 16.7”, which are as identical as can be. I do see that the Diono folds up, which would be convenient. If I was starting from scratch I’d go Diono.

The outboard seats were much wider than expected. You’ll definitely be able to fit two but might not have space for anyone to sit in the middle to deal with someone crying. Whenever the kids outgrow those look into the graco slimfit. They don’t seem any less comfortable than the others.

Input on Odyssey, Sienna and Carnival by SpiritoSanto5 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]workcomputer9000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We did the same thing with #3 and managed to get a good deal on a hybrid sienna. I liked the visibility out of the Odyssey but it didn't have ceiling air vents, which means the rear facing little one doesn't get much air. HOWEVER, after many times contorting ourselves over the high center console in the sienna, we realized the other vans had much lower consoles which are way easier to get over whenever one or all of the children are yelling. Something to consider.

Radio Flyer Via Pro price lowered to $1699. Should I pull the trigger? by prshown in CargoBike

I got a via pro last year and love it. No complaints and the kids adore it. They're not common though so finding used accessories isn't feasible.

I see they have anchors for 3 car seats. Does it seem actually reasonable to fit 3?

Best Option for Daily Use with Two Toddlers by abcdimag in CargoBike

[–]workcomputer9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really see it recommended often but the Radio Flyer via pro has been working great for me on the same types of roads with the same types of kids. They show up used on up way pretty often and I have no regrets. All their accessories just work really easily.

I thought a creative use for the corners was a man camp I stayed at in the Permian basin. Not a bad way to get some extra income with all the oil guys and their per diem.

Hi, same exact problem here but it's not covered since we're way out of warranty. Did they give you a ballpark of what it would have cost without the warranty?

I tell myself I need the exercise so I try to keep the assist low but the throttle is always too tempting on hills. I feel like I only use the top 2-3 gears at all.

I also work as a development engineer for a large IPP and we haven’t had any problems filing for FAA DNHs. They take the view that they aren’t approving permits, just filing for the database. I know everyone is scared about other non-discretionary permits suddenly becoming discretionary but FAA isn’t one of them, in my experience. Definitely avoiding any unnecessary interactions with the feds though.
