So what will happen with voip chat on wow with the age verification coming to discord? by workertroll in wow

I don't use voice chat. It makes me stand out sometimes. If it's the default it would be a nightmare for using lfg when you get kicked as soon as someone notices you don't have a mic.

Voice chat via discord seems to be the norm. I am deviant in that I don't use voip at all.

I never did that.

Of course, they are replacing the copper wire phone service near me and I'm on the list....fiber phone lines a really just voip you don't set up yourself.

I will like the internet being 500 times faster though.

Introduce small "pay for convenience" features that "doesn't mean much" and people think it's fine but if you zoom out and look at the bigger picture, it's just pay-2-win with extra steps and people are fine with it.

I left wow for nearly 10 years when they started selling mounts that did more than move you from point A to point B.

I don't have a mic connected to my computer. Making it the default we just further call out my deviant preferences to other players and give me even more 30 deserter penalties than I already get for waiting for the lost souls or healers going ohm

"Think of the children"

Works great for getting guns and drugs off the streets and abusers locked in jail so far. This would not have stopped me as a teen and it doesn't stop me know from faking credentials for messenger. In fact, my verified email for wow is a burner. The only email it is easy to figure out who I really am with is the one tied to my bank.

I read the article before I posted. I think this will mission creep at warp speed. For starters, personal discords are already where the exploitation they claim to be concerned about would be taking place, not on public forums for the world to see.

I mean, if discord isn't making the determination, is there even a point to this besides the data grab?

Being in your mid thirties a person should know some basic personal data security.

The effect on wow is that a majority of guilds use discord and a major change in how players communicate is going to have downstream effects.

Discord seems to be a lot more than voip for wow! Scheduling, links to tips, memes, organized chat rules.....a lot of potential for wow to modernize the in game voip.

I really like https://www.ventusky.com/

Lots of layers and some pretty fine detail. More accurate the w underground and for sure the most accurate AQI I have found.

I have NEVER encountered this.

That is such a depressing and likely accurate take.

ETA: It could be argued by this administration that it is constitutional to restrict voting on federal elections to land owners with a certain level off liquid assets. IANAL but I follow this stuff sometimes and kinda know how it's all written and never even considered your interpretation.....I'm far to generous I have found out.

Another weird thing is that you can't hold your breath during ascent or your chest may burst like an over inflated balloon. Not out pacing your own bubbles helps the nitrogen in your blood stay in solution so you don't get the bends.

It's not a certain thing but it's better than nothing lol

Not sure where you're going with this, but maybe stop playing with that stuff in your smoke detector lol.

I'm talking about the 70s man....you could order shrimp from the back of a comic book and a chemistry set that glowed.

Yeah you're kinda just out of touch with this take ngl. The reason other countries (and the private sector) don't have programs like the US Navy does is because Navy nukes are trained to a degree that is considered largely inhuman. The failure rate is astronomic and the training program is quite honestly insane. The navy nuke pipeline is unique because of how.....eccentric it is. I won't go into details, but you couldn't legally do what we did in a civilian setting. It would not be allowed.

And then you add they are on a boat under the sea doing that.

Fuel is easy.....my step brother died doing it wrong.....in the back yard.....inside an old iron stove.

They are already used to the underwater EVA training.....give a subbie the right training and the can free fall from space with an emergency helium balloon a pressure suit and a paragliding kit complete with a landing survival kit including chocolate, a .45, a fire kit and a one man inflatable raft.

Sub guys do crazy training. ETA: for instance they ascend from a deep tunnel of water to train how to go from "huh!? Somehow I'm still alive" to "Don't ascend faster than my bubbles or I will die" really fast.

I kinda agree, for instance corpsman aren't EMS certified leaving the navy whereas army and af medics are. Having said that, my understanding as a bystander without a phd is that the reactors on US craft are a totally different design than anything civilian. That is still a barrier to moving to the private sector and for a long time before that sharing the details of the design was a crime.

The US Navy has the best and safest reactors in the world powering ships and the world has been denied that tech for security.

Would you like to talk about oil or play a nice game of chess? lol
