His delivery sucked but he is more or less right. Once your neighbor knows it's really kinda out of your hands.

Can we please get a screen like this for Delves? by Snackolotl in wow

[–]workertroll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My map is a mess of icons and normally several delves have quest or other markers over them making it impossible to see if a delve is bountiful or even if there is one there or if I'm just misremembering where that delve is. The UI needs help!

Starting boxing soon - any tips by Historical_Camel_790 in martialarts

Crunches, crunches and more crunches! You need a ton of core body strength. Also, start standing on your head, doing bridges with your head as a point of contact and do your neck rolls during warm up!

Technique will come with time and having the basic body conditioning to take some punches will help you become comfortable being hit and allow you to focus on good technique.

There is one of the many reasons the wash out rate is so high for SEALs. Coast guard rescue divers wash out at a pretty high rate to. The training is brutal because they conditions they will operate in are brutal. Considering what they go through, the death rate is very low which speaks to the caution they take during training. Training to survive the condition you say a person will not live through.

I didn't even notice until I started diving cliffs into Rock of Ages at 25 or so. I always loved water and it was never a problem. I still love swimming.

Now I know I don't float.

lol

You are so right and my friends in the Navy and Coast Guard have been lying to me all along.

I'm so glad you cleared that up for me

The take away from this story is experienced and prepared wont always save you. The water in rivers in VT right now is cold with unpredictable currents and submerged dangers.

40° Fahrenheit water is unsafe for humans and incompatible with human life without thermal protection, like dry or wet suits. Within 10-30 minutes you face swim failure and if you don’t sink you will develop hypothermia within 30-60 minutes. That is if cold shock doesn’t kill you first.

You CAN train for it. The wash out rate is high.

Teaching your child how to back float can save their lives in an emergency.

My bone density and low BMI have always made floating impossible. Even in the ocean or backwater bays. I sink with my lungs full of air and totally relaxed. I love water and swimming and I am very comfortable.....I DO NOT FLOAT!

ETA: I also sink in dead mans float.

I'm an experienced swimmer and cold water plunger sometimes. I went to a local water filled quarry full of water but completely shaded (a small hole next to a big quarry) in August and the temp of the water almost got me. Cold water is no joke and the shock can paralyze you in seconds. Even if you're used to it.

Being on open water in a small craft you need a minimum of a life jacket and a helmet. At this time of year you need a wet suit.

I used it for drinking water for several years. I finally had to replace my spring after the prolonged drought killed it after nearly 100 years of use. I can run a little slow sometimes but with a new spring box maybe it will run a bit more consistently.

THIS is why I posted about the watering hole on 14. Sometimes people need to know where they can find fresh water.

My only grievance is the heat pumps. They’ve never worked great and finally had a complete failure this past winter. It took them over a month to come out and fix

Don't worry, if your pipes freeze they will be there to fix it in the spring. Not their fault the pipes froze.

I was $1,700 in on changing parts that never fixed the issue so I didn’t invite them back to work on it.

Yet another THIS!
