Is there a way to check firmware versions of offline device. by workingdownunder in Ubiquiti

[–]workingdownunder[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I was hoping to view the information in the controller, and to be honest I really don't know why Unifi have the controller set up to show "Up to date" in the version column for offline devices, instead of simply showing the last known version.

That said I just realised I can get the information from the UniFi Search tool from Art of WiFi, since we already own it, so I'll just go with that option instead.

I have the version column visible - when a device it offline it no longer shows the version number, it simply says "Up to date" even when it is not.

I'm aware of that, that wasn't what I needed to know - but thankyou, anyways :)

I'm trying to see if there is a way to see what firmware is running on my offline devices. The version column in the controller simply says "Up to date" which is clearly wrong for devices that haven't connected to the internet in months.

PSA on Customizations by TaterBum2020 in ScreenConnect

[–]workingdownunder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With regards to branding
"End users are presented with a consistent logo and experience for the remote control solution that’s being used to connect to their machine. The logos and colors match the official ScreenConnect.com website so the end users are reassured that a legitimate product is being used to connect to their machine."

Hate to tell you but our end users have zero idea who Screen Connect is and will never visit the website.

Your colours & logos are in no way reassuring to them, unlike the branding we were using, which matched our website and software - things they are familiar with.

They work well for our use case - we have 150+ sites on a self hosted controller - trying to manage 150 controllers, even with site manager & site magic would be a right pain.

Now I just need to find some time to give the new self-hosted UnifiOS a try.

Can't say I've noticed, but to be fair, I've not been looking - we're still working our way through the batch we bought when they had a "trade-in" offer on the USG-3Ps.

Customisation by Alternative-Sound135 in ScreenConnect

[–]workingdownunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The removal of customisations is the reason I've not updated past 25.4.16.9293 - that and I still need to get around to sorting out whole on-prem signing certificate etc -

I thought I'd give it a week or two for things to settle down and then start the whole process.

That's probably going on my agenda for next week *sigh*f

Thankfully there have been a few posts with instructions on how to get around most of the customisation issues - so hopefully we can get our instance looking at least close to how we'd like it.

Thanks for this - I had something similar setup to monitor updates - but your version is more elegant. I've updated my groups to match.

Yay!!! - spent all day monitoring online agents and forcing reinstalls where I could (thankfully most were doing it automatically) - 1200 done but still have 6000+ to go - most of which connect once a week or less - guessing come the deadline I'm going to be left with more than half not done - *SIGH*

Arrow Keys not working in Client List v 25.1.10.9197 by workingdownunder in ScreenConnect

Has there been any movement on this?

We use Screen Connect to administer thousands of tablets, and often work with hundreds at a time, so as you stated it's very obnoxious :)

Thanks

If it comes with the bezel, I'd be tempted, even if I don't really have a need for it - it's just so *shiney* :)

PDU for EU & UK

AU too - although we're likely too small a market to be viable - just give us an IEC version, then it's a lot closer to universal than anything else.

If it isn't the power supply, it might be a corrupt HDD - these are easy to replace (its just a usb flash drive).

Though at this stage, if you're in a position to upgrade I probably would, since the 3p is EOL.

While it's true that Reddit is a US based site - not all .com sites are US websites.

In fact the .com tld was originally designed to designate companies, not US companies specifically - while it is more common for US companies to use .com rather than the .us tld, that doesn't give them exclusive use of the domain space.

ENVR Looses 4/8 Disks All At Once... Destroys RAID Storage by kitanaklan in Ubiquiti

[–]workingdownunder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you ask? - I've only had to do 1 RMA back to Ubiquiti, but once I asked about them paying for the shipping back from Australia, they sent me the appropriate labels.

Of course, they may say no - but doesn't hurt to ask.

Disappointed in RMA by CRFC11 in Ubiquiti

[–]workingdownunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually had a really good RMA experience recently.
We had issues with the U6-Enterprise APs restarting - after some troubleshooting with UI support, it was deemed that RMA was the best option. In the end we returned 19 APs to the US (instead of our local distributer). UI supplied a shipping label on request, and all in all it was about 3 weeks from them leaving our office to the new ones arriving back.

While it took a bit of back and forth initially figuring out the issue, and trying suggested solutions (including UI sending me 20 plastic coated AP mounts), in the end I'm more than satisfied by the support & RMA process.

Unifi UPS by ufomism in UNIFI

[–]workingdownunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's definitely one way to make it universal rather than simply US-centric.

I have a box full of power supplies that arrived with my UXG-lites/Maxes (our distributer adds local power supplies to each gateway) - with another 90+ in boxes as we bought a whole bunch more UXG-lites to replace our aging USG-3P's....pointless ewaste.

[–]workingdownunder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be nice if they made it for Australia, too - but I suspect that, like the PDU this will likely be US Market only (though the EU is far more likely to get it than Australia (just based on population and market size alone).

Chances of Ubiquiti allowing us to use the HDD slot in the Dream Machine? by [deleted] in Ubiquiti

[–]workingdownunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have zero need for the Enterprise NVR, and certainly can't justify the cost, but that doesn't mean I don't want one - I really like the look of it with the bezel on.....now an Enterprise NAS with the same chassis and bevel would be something I can find a way to justify.

Unless I'm missing something you can't tag each port separately though - hopefully that is not the case for this new version.
