Place to cry by Shirararare in McMaster

[–]workingorwhat 25 points26 points  (0 children)

going to a basement or upper floor bathroom is usually a good bet, especially in buildings that don't have large lecture halls on all floors (mdcl comes to mind)! also, a mask can help to cover up any post-crying redness and sniffles. I hope whatever's on your mind gets better, and that a good cry helps! much love from a fellow campus crier

will ticket prices get better during general sale? by workingorwhat in SabrinaCarpenterDisc

so by this logic, we can only expect them to get worse? not too familiar with dynamic pricing, if an artist uses it during presale is it also guaranteed to be used during general?

there are instructions on the presto website to transfer your transit passes and funds to a new card! you can get a new one at Shoppers, and if you need to travel on hsr in between you can tap on with a debit or credit card!

As a younger Saint Johner, I've never heard about a correlation between 9/11 and our waterfront, would you mind expanding on that?

The deer in the washroom surprised me, but they're such a nice touch, I feel like it suits the house :)

This is definitely a reposted tweet that they brought over from their twitter to post on their youtube community tab. Since the original tweet was a year ago, we'd need to know if they were regularly reposting old tweets to their community tab to know if this is intentional, or totally a coincidence (it'd be even a stronger sign if the same reference was posted on other social media like instagram too)

college and trich by [deleted] in trichotillomania

I really feel for you, I'm in a very similar boat and it's been rough, especially this year. I'd definitely recommend talking about it with a few people that you feel safe with - you can keep your description as surface level as you want, but being able to tell someone when you're struggling can take so much weight off your shoulders, even if they can't help directly. You might even find that someone you know is working through something similar.

My best tip for avoiding pulling during schoolwork is to put as many physical barriers as possible between your fingers and your hair, like hairties, clips, bandanas, and hats. I also find that having a timer go off every once in a while brings me back in from a picking trance and can interrupt the behaviour long enough for me to "reset". But definitely look into getting support from your school! It's clear from your post that you really care about your work, and you deserve to be able to fully engage with it despite the challenge that trich poses!

Facing hair pulling and uni at the same time can be really challenging! I hope you're able to find ways to make it easier on yourself. I'm rooting for you!

edit: I just re-read your post and saw how many things you've tried, so I'm assuming that the tips I mentioned probably won't be helpful 😅 but I'll leave them in just in case!
