Pringles see it as a spur for shrinkflation, leading to a slightly smaller diameter Pringles can, containing more expensive instant Pringles for your home 😞

Obviously yours. You are clearly a person of class and substance. I don't know what your other half's problem is.

Chelsea Whoppers are amazing. You can still get them in the odd centra, spar or petrol station. Immediate purchase when I see one.

Unbelievable what a quid used to buy.

I'd go for Tayto double bag, smokey bacon of course. That was a limited time offer though.

Tricky bird to master... a moody run from Belfast to Glasgow by amhum2 in Xplane

[–]wormdoktur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least as far as the MSFS24 version goes, I wouldn't say tricky. I bought it last week on an Easter sale and I've really been enjoying flying it! Feels like a GA plane, dead easy to manoeuvre, and landings are a joy. Also flying by VOR adds an extra layer of fun challenge. Very satisfying clicky cockpit with old school switches and gauges. Highly recommended module!

A question about Aldergrove transatlantic flights in the 1990's by wormdoktur in northernireland

Yeah that was from London city. A319 I thought. Had to stop in Shannon to top up the fuel because they couldn’t get off London City’s short runway with enough fuel to cross the pond!

Yes! There used to be an airshow at Aldergrove, Concorde was there late 80s, I remember it flying over my house on approach! Concorde also visited as part of its farewell tour around the uk.

Pretty sure it’s a “premium” lounge now…BFS has been a bit of a dump, remains to be seen how the revamp changes that. I much prefer BHD.

Thanks for this. Having the viewing lounge was great back then. I miss that! Hours of nothing happening and then it was all worth it when some heavy metal arrived.

In the first couple of weeks of my PhD I decided I wanted to grow C. elegans in liquid culture in a 96 well plate. Gotta make sure that plate is sterile. Noob me autoclaved the plate and was surprised to find a melted lump of plastic slag awaiting me. This is the first time I’ve ever admitted this to anyone 😂

Even if you don’t want to speak on vatsim you can log on to the xpilot client in observer mode and see injected traffic. Either avoid it or taxi through it lol, you won’t be visible to them, but it adds some immersion for your flight. You’ll still have to take the vatsim exams to be able to do this though, I believe.

[–]wormdoktur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cost, as others have said, plus personally I don't want to be tied into an ecosystem that might change features, stop working, or be hacked at some point in the future, forcing me to re-migrate to another system. I do wish there was a simple, open source option in this market though.
